 Andheri SC enter Motiram Cup semis

Andheri Sports Club defeated Bombay Gymkhana 2-1 to enter the semi-finals of the Motiram Cup (for men) in the Rs 1 lakh prize money Motiram, Kanji & Ullal Cup Badminton Tournament, organised by GMBA, nmanaged by Badminton Gurukul and hosted by Willingdon SC at their courts, here, on Friday.

After Varun Nagdev defeated Rehaan Engineer 21-17, 21-19 in the opening singles to give Andheri SC the lead, Bombay Gym restored parity through Vinay K and Aditya Kharsale, who got the better of Tejas Prabhudesai and Sachin Kshatriya 21-16, 14-21, 21-17. Andheri SC clinched the tie when Arjun Singh and Harshal Soni teamed up to defeat Rehaan Engineer and Shailesh Daga 21-19, 10-21, 21-18.

In other quarter-final matches,  Spottsify Arena SC beat CCI B 2-0, Chembur Gym got the better of CCI A 2-0 and MIG Cricket Club overcame Juhu Gymkhana 2-0.
