The first two installments of A Quiet Place have managed to establish a strong foundation and captivate
audiences worldwide. The upcoming prequel, A Quiet Place: Day One, brings a new perspective with the
arrival of director Michael Sarnoski. It began when the screenwriters of the film drew inspiration from
their love of silent films and survival horror. A Quiet Place focused on a family living in silence to evade
creatures with acute hearing. This film directed by Michael Sarnoski is a prequel to that. As John Krasinski
steps down as director, Sarnoski's vision takes the story to new levels making sure that the film series
continues to connect with both loyal fans and new viewers.
While John Krasinski remains involved as a producer — alongside franchise producers Michael Bay,
Andrew Form, and Brad Fuller — he played a crucial role in the search for a new filmmaker. This search
led to the discovery of Michael Sarnoski, whose debut feature Pig earned the Best First Screenplay award
at the 2022 Independent Spirit Awards and impressed the team with his original thinking and creativity
John says, “Paramount was on board with the basic concept. We went looking for a writer-director who
could bring something totally unique. We found that in Michael Sarnoski. I thought he would be an
amazing choice for Day One. He is not only an extremely talented film maker, he also had a unique take
on this world. I hadn’t thought of anything like it. It was just brilliant.”
With A Quiet Place: Day One experience the day the world went quiet. Directed by Michael Sarnoski, this
installment takes place before the events of the previous two films. A woman named Sam must survive
an invasion in New York City by bloodthirsty alien creatures with ultrasonic sound hearing. Watch Quiet
Place: Day One, arriving in theaters on June 28th.
