Institute of Indian Interior Designers (IIID) has signed a
memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Confederation of Real Estate Developers
Association of India (CREDAI), Fire and Safety Association of India (FSAI), The
Indian Green Building Council (IGBC), Indian Plumbing Association (IPA) and
Indian Society of heating, refrigerating and air conditioning engineers
(ISHRAE), to boost sustainable practices for a better tomorrow.
These
special communities came together, not only for professional networking, but
also for giving back the noble profession, and society at large! This MoU is
not just about saving our surroundings but was also about being acutely aware
of our responsibilities towards our planet.
The
web event held at June 5th was an attempt to explore and respond
towards a sustainable planet through joint events, discussions, research
programs and innovations. The event witnessed renowned speakers like Jabeen L
Zacharias, President, IIID, Vasudevan Suresh, National Chairman, IGBC, Suresh
Menon, National President, FSAI, Gurmit Singh Arora, National President, IPA,
Satish Magar, National President, CREDAI and Richie Mittal, National President,
ISHRAE.
The
deliberation was focused on enabling Green cities for the environmental
movement. The aspects such as water and sanitation, energy efficiency,
sustainable design-oriented workshops, research programs were also highlighted
during the webinar. Post-COVID 19 hygiene is going to be very important so
plumbing is also crucial for clean water and design is an important aspect of
it.
To
elaborate Mr. Satish Magar, National President, CREDAI said “Nature is sending
us the message to care for nature and it is our duty to educate the children of
our society fora better tomorrow. Growth without sustainability will leave our
future generations bereft of the fruits of development. With the objective to
identify and implement various environment friendly innovations and solutions
for scripting a sustainable growth story, CREDAI is at the forefront to
transform the real-estate landscape and to create a greener and healthier world
for our future generations. The partnership with IIID reiterates our commitment
to a healthy and safe environment. Post lockdown, as we re-start building the
nation together, it is imperative for us to commence our operations
responsibly”.

resources are limited, and therefore pooling and sharing alone will optimise
our productivity! In this new paradigm, it is a survival of the quickest to

With
this MoU almost 1 Lakh members will be reached through all the 5 associations.
This collaboration with various associations will result in working towards a
shared goal, with a passion to add value, to existing systems and
opportunities!

IIID
Institute
of Indian Interior Designers popularly called I.I.I.D; was founded in 1972 to
establish good professional & trade practices and ethics amongst its
members and to highlight and enhance the image of the Interior Design Profession
and exchange know‐how with similar organizations within the country & abroad.
IIID is a member of APSDA : Asia Pacific Space Designers Alliance. Today, with
over 8,000 members in 31 chapters & centres across India, IIID is a true
representative of the Interior Design fraternity within the country as well as

ISHRAE, Indian Society of heating, refrigerating and air
conditioning engineers was founded in 1981 at New Delhi by a group of eminent

IGBC, The Indian Green Building Council is part of the
confederation of Indian industries was formed in the year 2001. The vision of
the council is “To enable sustainable built environment for all and facilitate
India to be one of the global leaders in the sustainable built environment by
2025”.
FSAI, Fire and Safety Association of India is a non-profit
organisation representing the fire protection life safety , security , loss
prevention and risk management domains in India with a vision to establish life
safety and security as an important obligation in the economic development of
the country
CREDAI, Confederation of Real Estate Developers Association of
India is an Apex body of private real estate developers representing 20,000
members spread across 21 state level chapters and 220 city level chapters in
India.
IPA, Indian Plumbing Association is the
apex body of plumbing professionals in India established in 1993, with the
objective to promote development of plumbing and building services the
association has 4500 + members across the country.
