You are cordially invited to 93.5 RED FM’s ‘The Yellow Taxi Music Project’ on 11th January, 2020, at Nicco Park Big Lawns, Kolkata. It an event where an eclectic curation of music will be presented offering an engrossing experience of varied genres of music from folk to blues to popular Hindi and Bollywood music. After the stupendous success of first edition, the second leg will see an astounding line up of indigenous and mainstream artists – Mame Khan, Lou Majaw, Soulmate along with headlining acts from the Bollywood maestros Darshan Raval and Javed Ali.

About Artists
Mame Khan
A nationally acclaimed folk singer from Rajasthan who has successfully dabbled a Bollywood career by singing in various films like Luck By Chance (2009), I Am (2010), No One Killed Jessica (2011), Mirzya (2016) and Sonchiriya (2019). In 2012, he also performed his popular tracks ‘Chaudhary’ and ‘Badari Badriyan’ at Coke Studio Season 2 with famous Bollywood singer and composer Amit Trivedi.
Soulmate
This blues rock band from Shillong, Meghalaya has enthralled the audience since 2003. Rudy Wallang and Tipriti ‘TIPS’ Kharbangar are the main band members who often work with other musicians for several sessions. Their popular tracks ‘Voodo Woman’, ‘Set me free’, ‘Lie’ are largely influenced from their life experiences which have slow and earthy sound of Khasi music blended flawlessly with Western blues. Soulmate ‘s greatest achievement has been their performance with Carlos Santana in New Delhi, 2012. So far, they have released three EPs titled Shillong (2004), Moving On (2009) and Ten stories up (2014).
Lou Majaw
He has been lovingly called the ‘Bob Dylan of India’ because of his tribute to the legendary singer. As a young boy in 1966 Lou was introduced to Bob Dylan's work. Inspired by his music, he started organizing "Dylan's birthday concert" every year in Shillong since 1972. A self-taught guitarist, Majaw is in his 70’s now and rightfully called the pride of Shillong. He has thoroughly explored the entire discography of Dylan in his performance.
Javed Ali
Predominantly, a Bollywood singer, Javed Ali also sings in Bengali, Malayalam, Telegu, Urdu among other languages. He has been extensively trained in qawwali and kirtan by his father Ustad Hamid Hussain. Ali became famous with his playback singing for Naqaab (2007), Jodha Akbar (2008), Ghajni (2008), Delhi -6 (2008), Raanjhana (2013) Bajrangi Bhaijan ( 2017), Kalank (2019) and many other films later on. Over the years, he has judged multiple reality shows like Sa Re Ga Ma Pa L'il Champs 2011 on Zee TV, Great Music Gurukul 2015 on Colors Bangla, Sa Re Ga Ma Pa L'il Champs 2017 on Zee TV and Indian Idol Season 10 in 2018 on Sony Entertainment Television.
Darshan Raval
A multi-talented singer, songwriter composer and actor , Darshan Raval came into limelight with the Indian reality show ‘India's Raw Star’ where he got the 1st runner up spot. He has done playback singing in Bollywood films like Prem Ratan Dhan Payo (2015) Sanam Teri Kasam (2016), Loveyatri (2018), Ek ladki ko dekha toh aisa laga (2019) among others. His singles ‘Tera Zikr’ and ‘Hawa Banke’ are chartbusters on YouTube.
