Controversial statement by Raftaar at BMP 5.0


“No one will leave this country – Yeh Desh kisi ke baap ka nahi hai” says Raftaar on stage at BMP 5.0 during his performance!!

Popular singer and television personality, walked up on stage at Bollywood Music Project 5th edition for his performance. But instead of starting his performance with a song, he shared his anger, taking a dig at the recent controversy over citizenship bill.
In anger Raftaar expressed, “You can’t ask me my religion when I come on stage to perform. Today I am being asked my religion to stay in this country. Everyone is like my brother and sister. And I am standing by them. No one will leave this country. Yeh Desh kisi ke baap ka nahi hai” further adding, “We are one and here to enjoy so let’s begin the party”.
The audience roared in his support as he started his performance with a bang, singing “Dilli wali baat cheet”. He then dedicated a song to all the beautiful girls, singing – “Bandook meri Laila”. Raftaar took the audience on a musical roller coaster as he churned out Punjabi dance numbers and fun song including “Aisi Dhakad hai, Swag mera desi, Bade lagte hai tu hot, Nikkar pehen ke, Baby marwa ke manegi” amongst others. The entire ground turned into a dance floor with Raftaar’s Punjabi hits!!.
Other artists who performed during 2 days of Bollywood Music festival included BPraak, Shalmalii, Divine, Vishal Bhardwaj, Divya Kumar, Ram Sampath, Neha Bhasin , Sunidhi Chauhan amongst others. Arijit Singh was the surprise act where he performed with Vishal Bhardwaj on Day 1 and Divya Kumar on day 2. With a crazy vibe and amazing Energy, 2 days of Bollywood Music Project has set a new benchmark for all music festivals in India.
