Jalgoan, December 23, 2019: Grand Maratha Foundation (GMF), a non-governmental organization, catering to the needs of farmers and their families across the state of Maharashtra commemorated Kisan Diwas in the Vanjari village of Jalgoan District in Maharashtra.
This celebration witnessed the attendance of more than 150 farmers and their families. It observed the Grand Maratha Foundation honoring 4 self-help groups by providing them with sewing machines, farmer widows with livestock, and farmers with battery torches, which is essential during the Rabi season. Additionally, to encourage farmers to adopt organic farming, complete organic bio-pesticide kits were also donated to four farmers.
Commenting on the event, Mr. Rohit Shelatkar, Philanthropist and Founder Grand Maratha Foundation said, “With farmers being an essential part of the fulcrum of our country, our goal at Grand Maratha Foundation has always been to uplift their lives through better amenities, education, and exposure to superior farming technology. Kisan Diwas is a reminder to everyone that we must respect, thank and appreciate the hard work of our farmers who work very hard for us.”
Founded in 2013, GMF has been at the forefront of supporting farmers, their widows, and their children, along with the poor and the downtrodden social strata in Maharashtra, to create a better future for them.
