Rudra Kaushish says Yoga & Music can save lives

21 June 2020, Mumbai: Actor Rudra Kaushish who was last seen in Star Plus’s ‘Dadi Amma Dadi Amma Maan Jao’, practised Yoga along with his family at his home in Jodhpur, Rajasthan. The actor-producer had left Mumbai at the beginning of the lockdown when Maharashtra State Government had put a blanket ban on all shooting activities due to the COVID 19 pandemic.
Speaking on the occasion Rudra said; “The sad state of happenings in the entertainment industry have jostled me. It is true that camps and glass ceilings exist. I also am someone who had no connect in the entertainment industry and dreamt of working here while working with the Central Reserve Police Force. When I came to Mumbai, I realised that it is not an easy road ahead. However, Music and Yoga were my forever companions in this long and arduous journey. Even if I do not get the time to practise Yoga every day due to exhaustive shooting schedules of the television industry, I ensure that I disconnect from the world with music every day for an hour. Recently, I also did sing some cover songs with the help of musical apps and shared the same with my friends on social media. This is like meditation for me.”
“My family is very worried after witnessing the state of affairs in the entertainment industry which are now highlighted by every news channel after Sushant Singh Rajput’s untimely demise. I was a part of the Bollywood film ‘Talaash’ which had tried to touch various aspects of ‘Depression’, ‘Suicide’, ‘Guilt Complex’, etc. Life many times throws several questions and challenges at us, but just like the tagline of the film I strongly believe that the ‘Answer Lies Within’. The days of no-shooting and lockdown gave us the opportunity to introspect, meditate and do Yoga. The entire world has now realised that Yoga can help us not only physically, but also mentally and spiritually. All the three generations of our family – I, my father and my son did Yoga together this Sunday which happens to be Father’s Day and Music Day as well. In the evening, we play to play Antakshri on a video call with the entire family. I sincerely pray to the almighty that the Solar eclipse should end the Covid-19 pandemic and all the bad news that the year has brought us. Its time to rise and shine again” said Rudra as he signed off.
Rudra Kaushish has featured in various shows like Kulfi Kumarr Bajewala, Balika Vadhu, Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai, Aapke Aa Jaane Se, Ek Boond Ishq, Gandii Baat, etc. He has also worked in movies like Lahore, Ranbanka, Bhadaas and the Amir Khan – Kareena Kapoor starrer ‘Talaash’. He has expanded into production too with his own production house ‘Rekha G Films’. He has released two short films on global OTT platforms and has got his third short film commissioned as well, the shooting for which will start after the Government approvals are in place.
