From the Khans, Kapoors and Kumars, many popular faces in B-town have
played the role of a Sardarji on screen and, left a lasting impression among
the audience. Now &TV’s Daroga Happu Singh (Yogesh Tripathi) from Happu
Ki Ultan Paltan joins the Punjabi munda bandwagon. He will be seen
portraying the role of a Sardarji named Pritam Singh. As the episode
progresses, Katori Amma (Himani Shivpuri) learns that her friend’s
daughter will be visiting her soon. She instructs everyone in the house to
prepare for a guest and ends up showing Rajesh (Kamna Pathak) and Happu
her picture. Happu soon recognizes her and gets baffled. In order to avoid her,
he shifts to the police station and refuses to come home. But due to the new
law, police inspectors are not allowed to turn the police station into their
home. A nervous Happu then devices a master plan by disguising himself as a
Sardarji. Happu makes this effort as he as he had broken her heart when
they were younger. Will the beans get spilled in front of his wife Rajesh or
will he be able to keep up with his disguise till
the end? Commenting on his Sardar Ji avatar Yogesh Tripathi
says, “Sardarji’s are the most loving and friendly people one might encounter.
They are also easy to spot in a crowded place and, can easily be stated to be
one of the reasons they stand out from the other people. Disguising myself as a
Sardar named Pritam Singh was an interesting part of the shoot. I had my
moments of ‘Balle balle, te shava shava’ but, I also took it as an opportunity
to represent them on screen to the best of my ability by becoming a Punjabi
Munda, even if it meant for a few days. Do watch the upcoming episodes to see
