This Christmas, &TV's artist talk about the core virtues of 'Yeshu'

This year, the pandemic impacted everyone's lives and also taught us many things. Of many lessons, the core virtues of compassion, Kindness, love, hope, and forgiveness have been at the forefront. This Christmas, lead casts from &TV's Yeshu - Aarya Dharmchand (Joseph), Sonali Nikam (Mary), Darpan Srivastava (King Herod) and Rudra Soni (Herod Antipas) talk about the virtues which are the cornerstones of humanity that help us sail through the difficult situation we are in today.

Aarya Dharmchand shares, "It is often said that tough situations make you a strong person, but I would like to add that it also makes you equally sensitive. Compassion and Kindness are a few virtues that I have always believed and followed in my life. These are indeed a few of Yeshu's core beliefs, who emphasised love, compassion, forgiveness, and peace as the righteous ways of life. In these challenging times, these two virtues have motivated me to help others, to be kind, and to give and support others, bringing a sense of hope and positivity. Christmas is not just about decorating your house, exchanging gifts, and baking scrumptious meals but also about spreading smiles. On that note, I wish Merry Christmas to everyone and their families. May this festivity bring lots of joy, good health, peace and happiness in everyone's life." Sonali Nikam comments, "Giving people a chance to get over their guilt on and make amends can only happen through sheer forgiveness. It not only not helps those you forgive but also helps you attain peace and closure. I believe in forgiving and forgetting, and it helps me strengthen my relations with those around and make it more meaningful. I request everyone to implement the virtue of forgiveness in their lives too and make every day as Merry as Christmas Day." Darpan Srivastav shares, "Kindness can lead you to a lot of open doors and opportunities, and I have experienced this in my life. Kindness is being gentle, thoughtful, helpful, and forgiving at times when it would be so easy to be angry. The kind person persists in behaving humanly no matter how irresistibly circumstances may tempt him to behave otherwise. In these challenging times, Kindness is the key to bring happiness and joy into others' lives. I wish everyone a Merry Christmas and urge everyone to be patient and always to be kind." Rudra Soni comments, "Umeed pe duniya kayam hai. In other words, Hope helps us face intense situations with positivity and strength. Today on Christmas, I request everyone to adopt and put into practice Yeshu's virtues and qualities, which helps us in becoming more humane and caring."

Premiered on December 22, at 8:00 pm on &TV, 'Yeshu' is a story of an exceptionally benevolent child who only wants to do good and spread happiness all around him. His love and compassion for all in stark contrast to the dark, evil forces prevalent during his birth and childhood. Witnessing the various atrocities on his family and in society has a deep impact on him. His attempt to help others and ease their pain often leads to situations where he inevitably ends up being hurt and condemned by the oppressors and the people at large. But even that does not stop Yeshu from continuing his path. It is not only the most iconic story of good versus evil, but it also captures the beautiful relationship between Yeshu and his support and guide - his mother.

Tune in to Yeshu at 8:00 pm, every Mon-Friday only on &TV!
