ALTBalaji & ZEE5's newly launched medical thriller, LSD – Love, Scandal & Doctors revolves around a killer and the chase the murderer along with an investigation of whether the killing was intentional or it was an accident. The show is already gaining popularity amidst youth, who understand the chaos around the five crime suspects interning at the prestigious KMRC hospital. It is assumed that one of them is the killer. Besides them, we have the dean of the KMRC hospital Dr. Rana played by Rahul Dev, a highly experienced man, and an incredible doctor. His legacy is his primary concern, which is above anything in his life. It is he who is supervising all of the interns.
The cast and crew of LSD - Love, Scandal & Doctors have gone to great lengths to ensure that the story was delivered to the audience correctly. Doing EVERYTHING in their power to make that happen. The actors left us shocked when they said they underwent a surgery workshop, where actual surgeons took workshops to make sure the actors are well aware of the medical terms.
Actor Rahul Dev who plays one of the pivotal characters in LSD - Love, Scandal, and Doctors easily steal the show. His commanding presence on the screen helps establish his character, who is both scary and dominating. As the show delves into the themes of power, nepotism, politics, and competition, it is a nail-biting story that keeps it all together for a show with a lot of nuance and intricate details.
When spoken to Rahul Dev, he shared, "Playing a surgeon for the first time, came with a lot of responsibility. Obviously 10 years of education can't be made up in a 3 day workshop. However, keeping creativity & the narrative of the story in mind, as an actor I felt I should be familiar with medical terminology in the screenplay, names of instruments, etc while performing the operation and enacting basic procedures. The makers had a clear vision and collaborated with professional surgeons for the medical workshop. I felt for the character of Dr. Rana who's also the Dean, the look, feel & being at ease would be important.”
He further adds, “I have subconsciously tried to keep him subtle and understated, kept a sense of camouflage in his character. The classes did help while enacting the surgeries, keeping my hands steady and making the place my own during the filming process. It was purely with their guidance; I was able to pull it off. Insight into knowing the pressures doctors face while performing intricate processes in surgery or diagnosis, does leave me with a sense of awe and deep respect for their profession."
The other people in the cast of ALTBalaji and ZEE5's one of a kind medical thriller are Punit J Pathak, Siddharth Menon, Tanaya Sachdeva, Srishti Ganguli Rindani, Ayush Srivastava, Pulkit Makol, and a whole bunch of others. The talented Satvik Mohanty & Preya Hirje have directed the series.
