February 2021: Slam Out Loud is an Indian
non-profit organization that uses art to build Creative life skills in children
from low-income communities and thus enabling and helping them find their
voices. Slam Out Loud’s goal is to ensure every child has the opportunity to
voice their opinion and bring about a positive change that they see in society.
The Covid-19 pandemic has really altered
the way we live and give people the much needed time to follow their passion
and hobbies. Parents with young kids had to find new ways to keep their
children entertained in the confines of their homes. Children started reading
and consuming art and theatre more compared to pre-Covid times. But what happens to those underprivileged
kids who do not have the opportunity and chance to raise their voices and
express themselves? Slam Out Loud ensures that every child has the freedom and
opportunity to voice their opinion.
Slam Out Loud celebrates its 4th anniversary on the 16th February 2021. In order to celebrate this joyous occasion, they will be bringing together youth from different countries and diverse backgrounds who will share their stories and poems around the theme of what it means to have a voice. There will also be an open mic night at 9 pm for children from the age group of 13 -17, from 20 different countries in association with The Sal Khan chaired organization, Hello World. This will be hosted by the extremely talented, Rohan Joshi.
To celebrate the month of love by supporting Slam Out Loud #UnmuteIndia by being part of the events they have created, let's all spread love through a simple gesture that will make a huge difference to a lot of children out there.
