DELAY IN NEET PG DATES: OPPORTUNITY FOR SOME BUT PRESSURE FOR OTHERS

February 2021: The coronavirus pandemic already had a devastating impact on the academic calendar. Further to that, all competitive examinations like NEET, JEE, etc. were delayed which we can say is opportunity for some and pressure for others.

NEET PG (National Eligibility cum Entrance Test, Post Graduate) exam, which is the entrance exam for the MD course. Although, the official announcement in regards to NEET PG 2021 dates have been made. NEET PG 2021 is to be held on 18^th April, 2021 which is delayed by three months. The registrations for NEET PG will begin from 2^nd week of February. (Source: NBE)

Anxiety or stress is something you go through during the exam. The constant postponement and delay have put the candidates in a tough spot. The main reason for stress of the aspirants is that NEET PG 2020 was taken late. The counseling of the NEET PG 2020 was done till last week of September. So, the students got less time for studying and they were also burdened with the pressure of the pandemic. The aspirants who give NEET PG work somewhere either as interns or juniors. The preparation time students have got was also less. The reason behind the mental pressure of the students is job pressure, pandemic and delay in the examination but the positive thing is that the aspirants have got extra three months for their preparation. The delay in the date is impacting those students who will cross their MBBS in 2020. As per the government, the last date for completing the internship is 30^th June, 2021 which will not be possible for some students. As the final exams are not conducted by some colleges, this has created a lot of confusion and chaos among the aspirants.
