(L-R) Swiss Ambassador to India H.E. Dr. Ralf Heckner receiving a Lotus memento from Mr. Vikas Singh, MD & CEO, MMTC-PAMP at the refinery facility of the company in Mewat, Haryana. MMTC-PAMP is a joint venture between MMTC Ltd, a Government of India Undertaking, and PAMP S.A. of Switzerland, the world’s most accredited refiner and fabricator of precious metals. MMTC-PAMP is India’s first and only gold and silver refinery accredited by the London Bullion Market Association. The MMTC-PAMP facility in Mewat is equipped with the technology to refine gold and silver up to 999.9+ purity to meet the highest technical and quality requirements across the globe.
H.E. Dr. Ralf Heckner during his visit to the refinery said, “I am happy to note the value that the partnership between Switzerland’s PAMP SA and India’s MMTC has created. MMTC-PAMP is an example of successful Swiss-Indian cooperation rooted in innovations. It is a proof of how companies from both sides can benefit from each other’s strengths, create value for clients, and, in effect, contribute to strengthening economic ties between the two countries.
India is a country of high importance for Swiss foreign economic policy. Switzerland is the 12th largest investor in India. Swiss companies have created over 135’000 jobs in India so far. Over the last years, the number of Swiss companies active in India has further increased, with currently more than 300 subsidiaries, joint ventures, branches or liaison offices present. Without doubt, Swiss companies, with their innovative mind-set and future oriented vision, will continue venturing into India.”
