DELAY IN NEET PG AND INI CET EXAMS CAN IMPACT CUT-OFF: DOCTORS UNDER PRESSURE

This year cut-off will be highly impacted due to delay in PG entrance examinations.

June 2021: The coronavirus pandemic already had a devastating impact on the academic calendar. Further to that, all competitive examinations were delayed.

The official announcement in regards to NEET PG and INI CET 2021 delay have been made. But the dates are not yet decided.

Conducted by NBE, NEET-PG is a highly competitive exam. It is a national level entrance exam conducted once a year in online mode. Conducted by AIIMS, INI CET is exam for PG courses in government medical institutes like AIIMS, JIPMER, NIMHANS, etc.

The cut off is the minimum qualifying percentile that must be secured to pass the entrance exam. It is different for all categories. NEET PG and INI CET exams got delayed due to pandemic due to which students are getting more time for studies but some of them are also serving in the Covid departments as Covid Warriors. This time there is a chance that cut- off will be different when compared to past years. Doctors are worried, anxious and under pressure as they are unaware of pattern and the cut off this time. This is creating chaos and dilemma among candidates.

Aspirants are in a confused situation. The last years cut-off will differ and vary when compared to this year. Aspirants follow previous year cut-offs and make their strategy accordingly like what marks are required to get which college etc. They have got a huge span of time for their preparation.  Aspirants are well prepared and ready to face the toughest paper because of the long span of time for preparation. There are candidates who have thoroughly revised the syllabus many times. Due to delay in examination and more time for preparation it is expected that the cut-off for this time will be high.

Commenting on the same Mr. Gaurav Tyagi, Founder- Career Xpert said, “This time the cut-off will be highly impacted due to delay in entrance examinations. It will be different from past years cut-off because aspirants have got more time for preparation. The candidates should not rely on cut-offs of past years and also they should not follow past years pattern.  Due to the delay in examinations, the pattern this year will be entirely different. You should be well prepared for examination thoroughly. Be consistent in your studies. Don’t prepare yourself relying on the past year exam and cut-off pattern. My best wishes to all the aspirants.”
