Bubble Communication takes PRIDE in hosting inspiring forces of the LGBT+ community on its LIVE chat series

The world is marking June as Pride Month to celebrate the LGBTQIA+ community, their achievements

, and their struggle against discrimination and social ostracization. Many countries organize month-long activities and initiatives that culminate into a loud crescendo of the ‘Pride Parade’. Bubble Communication tuned into this gala by welcoming inspiring individuals of the LGBT+ community and its allies to their series of LIVE chat sessions on Instagram. The series, ‘Walk with PRIDE, Talk with PRIDE’ aimed at raising awareness amongst the audience and also sharing inspiring stories with them.

Ace Fashion Designer Rohit K Verma who was one of the first guests in the series said “The heart just knows how to beat to the rhythm of pure emotions. It does not know if it's beating for a woman or man. it simply beats and resonates with love. Love is not biased, it just happens for the only soul who is bound to cross your path.  Hail the bond and not the gender that it identifies with. Acceptability of gay marriage in our Indian society is a massive leap towards the new transforming nation. The community is standing tall and with pride facing towards the new horizon.”

Miss Transqueen India 2020 Shaina Soni expressed her opinions on the session stating “It’s high time we change how we perceive transwomen in India. They are not people you look down upon or have sympathy for. We are no different. All the previous Miss India, Miss World, Miss Universe winners were women with a purpose, and so am I,”

Accessory designer Akassh K Aggarwal, also feels people must not seek any approval or acceptance while coming out of the closet. “I am as mainstream as anyone else in our society. It’s just that the LGBT people have been side lined. Coming from a land as diverse as India, I am so proud of my identity,”. “Self-acceptance is the key to fighting all battles in the journey of an LGBTQ+ person. When you are sharing who you are, you are just expressing your sexuality, so don’t seek approval or acceptance. Be willing to give others their time to understand,” he added.

An Advocate on Record in the Supreme Court and the Delhi High Court, Bhuvneshwari Pathak brought a legal perspective to the issue, and stated that “Even when there are amendments in the law, there still has to be acceptance at large of the LGBT+ community, only then there will be further development.”

Director of Bubble Communication, Aarti Notiyal highlighted the significance of active support for the LGBT community through her belief that “As, allies, it is important for us to not only encourage and support the LGBT community but also gain knowledge and awareness regarding the issues that affect the community in order to support the community better.”
