Privé Theatre brings Suchitra Pillai and Joy Sengupta starrer ‘Womanly Voices’

Mumbai, 26th October 2023: Zee English Cluster’s channel &PrivéHD have been known to bring the best as per viewers’ choice. Catering to the 360-degree need of today’s times, the channel had introduced an annual property Prive Theatre to telecast modern plays. The channel makes this property possible through its partnership with Zee Theatre bringing alive the real stage emotions to the television screens giving an in-depth experience of theatre to the viewers. This year Prive Theatre kicks off on 27th October with ‘Womanly Voices’. The play premiers on &PrivéHD on Friday and will run till next Thursday at 7 PM.

Directed by Lillete Dubey, Womanly Voices stars Pranav Sachdev, Ira Dubey, Deepika Amin, and Adit Bhilare alongside Joy Sengupta and Suchitra Pillai. Womanly Voices is a strong anthology that represents women’s voices in Indian literature. The stories are Wajeda Tabassum’s Utran, Mahasweta Devi’s Shishu, and Gita Mehta’s The Teacher’s Story, which are all universal, powerful, insightful and distinct. Utran is a story about the vindictive fury of unequal female friendships and the weaponisation of sex, Shishu is a hair-raising tale of starvation where people become reduced in size to pygmies due to hunger and malnutrition over years and The Teacher’s Story tells an intriguing tale of a music teacher whose dreams of becoming a professional singer did not work out.

Watch an intriguing anthology ‘Womanly Voices’ Friday to Thursday at 7 PM on &PrivéHD
