International Delegation of Ambassadors to Convene at Hostage Square in Tel Aviv, Hosted by Mayor Ron Huldai

 

26th December 2023 In a display of international solidarity and commitment to resolving the current crisis, more than 40 ambassadors and diplomats from all over the world gathered at Hostage Square in Tel Aviv today (Wednesday, December 20th). They met with the families of the hostages and discussed diplomatic efforts to address the ongoing situation at Beit Ariella Library, and then visited the organizational headquarters of the hostage families and their supporters outside at what is now known as Hostage Square. Ron Huldai, Mayor of Tel Aviv-Yafo: "Today there are more than 120 hostages being held by Hamas in Gaza and their fate is still unknown. We at the Tel Aviv-Yafo municipality provide every family staying here in Hostage Square with whatever they need to continue their brave, justified, and very painful struggle. They are our residents, no matter where they originally come from. In their name and the name of those held in captivity, I appeal to you today: Help us bring their loved ones home. We don’t have a single moment to lose." This assembly signified a collaborative effort by the global community to stand together in times of crisis and emphasized the importance of diplomacy in resolving complex issues. Among the distinguished attendees was Mayor Ron Huldai, who joined the delegation to express the city's support for the affected families and contribution to the diplomatic initiatives aimed at facilitating the safe release of the hostages.
