India, 31st August 2024: Swiggy, India’s leading on-demand convenience platform, has launched a side-splitting ad film for its new Group Ordering feature. This industry-first feature is highlighted in the ad, which stars some of the country’s most popular meme creators, including the 'Vada Pav Girl,' 'Level Sabke Niklenge' meme-r, Satvik Subramaniam, Darshan Magdum, Prakash Kumar (Puneet Superstar), Qureshi Boy, Dolly Ki Tapri and Ganji Chudail.

The ad film humorously tackles the common challenge of ordering food for a large group. It showcases Swiggy’s Group Ordering feature that works as an anti-chaos when it comes to group food decisions. Each meme creator brings their unique flair to the film, making for an entertaining watch. Since its release through Swiggy India’s Instagram handle, the rib-tickling ad film has received tremendous consumer love, garnering over 6 million views and 900K shares in less than 24 hours.

Captioned, “Pathar pe pathar maare toh chingari nikalti, Swiggy pe order karne poori gang nikalti,” the film humorously depicts common group-ordering dilemmas. The film opens with a voiceover asking, “Kya kahyenge app?” to which Puneet superstar replies “Yakhni pulao” in his signature style, followed by Vada Pav girl’s iconic dialogue around nobody going hungry. This is soon after Darshan breaks into song. The film also features Laxmi Sharma, who finally says “level sabke niklenge” after which all the characters start to scream as their stomachs growl with hunger.

Launched earlier this month, Swiggy’s Group Ordering feature is perfect for various occasions—from festivals and game nights to team lunches and meetings. As the festive season approaches, this feature allows users to select a restaurant, create a group order, and soon, even split the bill.

Bollywood director Sajid Khan sells Juhu apartment for Rs. 6.1 Crore: Square Yards


Adding to the flurry of real estate activity among Bollywood celebrities, director Sajid Khan has recently offloaded his apartment for Rs. 6.1 crore according to the transaction reviewed by Square Yards. Khan’s property was located in the Beach House Co-operative Housing Society, in Mumbai’s Juhu area.

Juhu is a vibrant and affluent locality on Mumbai’s western coast, celebrated for its upscale lifestyle and prime real estate. The locality is renowned for its scenic beachfront and lively atmosphere, with numerous luxury high-rises offering breathtaking views of the Arabian Sea. Juhu's appeal is further enhanced by its proximity to a range of high-end amenities, making it a highly desirable address for celebrities, professionals, and businesspeople alike.

According to Square Yards, the apartment boasts a spacious built-up area of 2,176 sq. ft. (~202 sq. m.) and comes with a dedicated car parking space of 220 sq. ft. (~20 sq. m.). The transaction which was registered in June this year, incurred a stamp duty of Rs. 36.6 lakh and a registration fee of Rs. 30,000.

Sajid Khan began his career in the entertainment industry as the host of the TV show Main Bhi Detective in 1995. He made his directorial debut with Darna Zaroori Hai (2006), an anthology film featuring six short stories, where he helmed one segment. Khan is best known for his successful work on the Housefull film series, Heyy Babyy (2007), and Humshakals (2014). He was also a judge on the Indian reality television show Nach Baliye. He is the brother of renowned choreographer Farah Khan and was most recently seen as a contestant on Bigg Boss 16, where he secured 10th place.

Mastercard selects India for the global launch of its Payment Passkey Service, accelerating secure online checkout for millions of shoppers

DELHI – August 30, 2024 – During a keynote presentation at Global Fintech Fest in Mumbai, Mastercard announced the worldwide launch of its new Payment Passkey Service to make online shopping more secure and easier than ever. Debuting first in India as a pilot with some of the nation’s largest payments players, including payment aggregators such as JuspayRazorpay and PayU, online merchants such as bigbasket and leading banks such as Axis Bank, the service will give millions of consumers more control and peace of mind when checking out online. 

Despite the rising popularity of one-time passwords (OTPs) due to their ease of use, they are increasingly vulnerable to online scams such as phishing, SIM swapping and message interception. In India, the incidence of fraud cases has surged by nearly 300% in the last two years. Card and online payment fraud, which includes other digital payment methods, skyrocketed over 700%, according to the Reserve Bank of India’s Annual Report for 2023-2024.

Enter payment passkeys. They use device-based biometric authentication methods such as fingerprints or facial scans, but for an entirely new purpose: to streamline online shopping experiences. By replacing traditional passwords and OTPs, the Mastercard Payment Passkey Service makes transactions not only faster, but also more secure against fraud and scams. With payment passkeys, consumers can say goodbye to the hassle of forgetting or accidentally sharing their passwords or OTPs.

The service leverages passkeys and tokenization to secure a consumer’s online checkout interaction, ensuring that the transaction is secure and no financial account data is shared with third parties – rendering it useless to fraudsters and scammers. The Mastercard Payment Passkey Service is a game changer for online commerce:

  1. Shoppers choose their Mastercard when checking out as a guest or select a card already stored securely on file with a merchant.
  2. To confirm the payment, users can use the biometric authentication mechanism features on their device – whether it’s a fingerprint, face scan or PIN.
  3. Upon successful authentication, the payment is instantly completed.

The Mastercard Payment Passkey Service is built for online or remote tokenized transactions, which today help significantly reduce fraud and increase approval rates. Over 13000 students across 38 Government schools benefit from Verizon India's School Transformation Program

August 30, 2024, India: Verizon India guided by UN SDG 4- to provide access to high quality education to all, has commenced the School Transformation Program (STP). Mr. Shankar Arumugavelu- Executive Vice President, and President of Verizon Global Services inaugurated a new STEM lab & SMART classroom in a government school in Chennai. Verizon India initiated STP as one of its flagship CSR projects in 2023 in partnership with India Literacy Project (ILP) - an NGO that works with children in government schools.

Through this initiative over 13,000 students in 38 Government schools across Chennai, Hyderabad and Bengaluru can now experience digital training and access science-based course modules. The program is designed specially to kindle the students' passion to choose STEM based careers in the future. 

Verizon also collaborated with ILP to curate a digital curriculum for students who can now access the digital content and enjoy the plethora of learning activities built on an open platform. The company has also signed an MoU with ALD Automotive Pvt Ltd to expand its flexible ownership programs. This collaboration will expand Kia’s Leasing & Subscription services to 14 major cities across India, namely Delhi, Noida, Ghaziabad, Faridabad, Gurgaon, Mumbai, Pune, Ahmedabad, Indore, Bangalore, Chennai, Hyderabad, Kolkata and Jaipur. 

Following the success of Kia Lease program, which has long tenure plans, the company have introduced ‘Kia Subscribe’ a short-term lease option, ideal for salaried and self-employed individuals, seeking flexibility in vehicle usage without the long-term commitment with tenure ranging from 12 to 36 months.

*1. Bob Biswas:*
Chitrangda Singh played the role of Mary Biswas in the  2021 crime thriller Bob Biswas. She played the role with so much grace that we couldn't take our eyes off her. She essayed the role of Abhishek Bachchan‘s wife and nailed the complex character where she had to take care of the house as well as remind the husband about the family they built together as he loses his memory. The role played by Chitrangda won appreciation from one and all.
*2.Saheb Biwi aur Gangster 3*

Her character was that of Geeta Rao, a London returned South Indian woman madly in love with fireband Kay Kay Menon. She played a role of a woman who has led a sheltered life and was yet to explore the terrain of the Indian socio- political landscape. We loved her fresh face and her promising acting in the film.

One of the best roles portrayed by Chitrangda Singh was in Nilkhil Advani's Bazaar. She played a powerful and instrumental character named Mandira in the film and starred opposite the Nawab, Saif Ali Khan. She played a wife to Saif in the movie, and it was her character that delivered the twist that happened to be the game changer in the film.

In the 2023 psychological thriller Gaslight, Chitrangda Singh took on the challenging role of Rukmini, a character steeped in mystery and emotional complexity.
