Premiere of 'Zindagi - Tales of Bollywood ' - New Dance & drama to launch this Friday!

Zindagi Tales of Bollywood’ takes us on an unforgettable journey into the magic of Bollywood
Unique style of production using green screen technology
Mumbai, June 20, 2019: BeMaD Production & MoCa Entertainment is to launch on the Indian stage, ‘Zindagi Tales of Bollywood’, a celebration of India’s diversity, through a colourful dance drama. The Indo-Belgian production showcased different dance forms, from across India like Garba, Bhangra, Kathak, and Bollywood!  ‘Zindagi Tales of Bollywood’ developed locally in India, retained an original script with inspirations for the dance sequences from popular Bollywood movies like Lagaan or Devdas. 20 dancers in more than 200 costumes will be on stage for this 2 hours long dance drama.
The show will premiere on 21st June, 2019 at the Swatantryaveer Savarkar Auditorium, Dadar West. The first show  will play to an audience of 350 people. BeMad Production now looks forward to more shows for ‘Zindagi Tales of Bollywood’ in India and internationally.
The dance drama follows the love story of Raj and Menaka, a human boy and an immortal princess. Menaka comes to earth from a fictional heaven called ‘Swargistan’, to lead a normal life and falls in love with Raj, and wants to marry him. But it is not that simple, Raj must undergo 7 challenges based on the Hindu tradition of 7 vows of marriage. Menaka’s parents, King and Queen of Swargistan, being the Bollywood fans that they are, decide to  design those tests around their favourite movies. Adding of course a villain, and a series of traps and unexpected events, Raj must overcome a lot to prove he is worthy of marrying the girl of his dreams.
The show combines ‘Green Screen’ technology along with conventional production. With ‘Green Screen’ technology you can superimpose subjects on a virtual background of your imagination. Since ‘Swargistan’ is a fictional world this was easily created using the technology. The creators have decided to tell the story through a movie, and have shown Swargistan on the screen, while Earth is depicted on stage and expresses itself with dance.
Speaking on this unique productionMohit Mathur, Director & Choreographer, said,“We want to make dance accessible to audiences and hence thought of weaving it into a show that tells a relatable story. We have worked hard to make “Zindagi, Tales of Bollywood” within a short time frame and with talented Indian dancers. There is such a rich culture in India and no shortages of stories to be told, especially in Bollywood movies, we want to showcase them to the world. We hope the audience has enjoyed it as much as we enjoyed the process of creating it.”
Carla Stark, Producer said, “India has such a rich dance heritage and we wanted to showcase the best of Indian talent, while creating an international show. We have used cutting edge technology and coupled it with an interesting story. We will be trying it out in front of an audience for the first time and I hope they will be happy with our show!”
Akarsh Khurana, Director  of  the onscreen interludes, between the dances said,“It is an interesting and hybrid production, using live performance, interspersed with filmed scenes that tell the whole story. I was happy to help with the filmed scenes. I have seen rehearsals and the dancing is going to be spectacular. I’m looking forward to see all the elements come together to deliver a superlative show.”
The screenplay has been written by the multitalented theatre artiste Dilshad Edibam Khurana and has an original composition by the versatile composer Nakash Aziz.
