National Police Memorial in Delhi should be on everyone's agenda when they visit Delhi, as it is a proud place for all of us to remember the martyrs who sacrificed their lives for us; we are planning to build a police memorial in every district, said Minister of State for Home Affairs, Government of India, Shri G. Kishan Reddy in Pune today. The Minister said this, while speaking to media, upon the conclusion of All India Conference of Director Generals / Inspector Generals of Police - 2019 at IISER, Pune. Earlier, Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi and Home Minister Shri Amit Shah addressed the conference.
The Police Memorial will help improve the image of police personnel, who keep toiling 320 days in a year, without worrying about their families and relations while performing their duties. We should not discredit the entire police force for individual cases, we will try to modernise the police and impart more training to police forces, Shri Reddy added.
Minister of State for Home Affairs, Government of India, Shri Nityanand Rai was also present.
On the occasion, Shri Reddy and Shri Rai paid homage at Hutatma Smarak, followed by visit to Maharashtra Police Museum, at Centre for Police Research, Pune.
