Kansai Nerolac Paints Ltd Announces Q3 Results FY 2019-2020


Kolkata, January 31, 2020: Kansai Nerolac Paints Limited (KNPL), one of the leading Paint companies in India, today at the Board meeting announced its un-audited results for the third quarter of financial year 2019-20. For the quarter, the company declared Net revenue of Rs. 1248.1 Crores a de-growth of 7.6 % over the corresponding quarter of the previous year. For the nine months ending December 31, 2019, the company had a Net revenue of Rs. 3955.1 Crores a de-growth of 1.6 % over the corresponding period of the previous year.
EBIDTA was at Rs. 191.9 crores a growth of 8.4 % over the same quarter of the previous year. Lower Tax has resulted in Net profit growth of 8.8%. For the nine months ending December 31, 2019, company reported an EBITDA of Rs. 653.8 Crores a growth of 10.4% over the same period last year. Net profit growth was up by 23.9 %.
Commenting on the results, Mr. H. M. Bharuka, Vice Chairman and Managing Director, Kansai Nerolac Paints Ltd said, “Both Decorative and Industrial business have seen a dip in demand in the current quarter. Within Industrial, in Automotive, where the company has a significant exposure, the impact continues to be very severe due to the continued un-precedented slowdown. The company’s decorative sales were impacted due to lower offtake during the festival season and extended monsoons.
During the quarter, input costs were stable. This along with judicious control on costs has helped improve the EBITDA margin by 230 basis points. Exchange rate and crude oil prices continued to show volatility creating challenges in raw material cost management.  Looking forward, the demand in Decorative business would be positive but expected to be muted. Challenges of demand in Industrial are expected to continue for the near future.”
Outlook of Indian Paint Industry:
The size of domestic paint industry is estimated at Rs.50000 crores as of Mar 2019. The good growth in infrastructure, core sector as well as automobile and real estate is likely to have a positive effect on the overall demand of paint for the industry.

Mumbai 2020: Gujarati film industry is abuzz after the announcement of Golkeri. The film features Malhar Thakar as Sahil and Manasi Parekh as Harshita who overnight end their perfect relationship of two years. But, as much as they want to move on and move away from each other, they are stuck in awkward situations put up by their parents who make persistent attempts to bring them back together.
The movie is set in recent times and essays the complications and thought process of this generation. Hence the music also resonates with the flavor of today.
With Golkeri, Mika Singh who has enthralled us all with his majestic voice and songs will sing a Gujarati song for the first time. “I was on a lookout for an opportunity to sing in Gujarati as I gave sung in quite a few languages but there should be one song for all my Gujarati fans. Whenever I travel abroad I always sing my tracks and with this track I have one more dhamakedar song to perform on. The song for Golkeri is called Soni Gujarati ni which I have composed and have sung along with Parthiv Gohil who is a very well known singer himself.”
Adding more on the song, Parthiv Gohil says, “Mika is a superstar and also my dear friend we know each other for almost 20 years. We were thinking of creating something in Gujarati from many years and when Golkeri was happening we got an opportunity that we were looking for and Soni Gujarati ni was created. The flavor that is synonymous with Mika, reflects that brilliantly in the song. He has composed and arranged it.”
The song has been released on youtube and look out for the trailer on the 7th of February.
Golkeri releases on the 28th of February in India.

Vikas feels that Asim's emotions is impacting his game and since she is the only one who he trusts, she should make him understand his priorities. Affected by the conversations, Himanshi opens up to Rashami and reveals that someone close to Asim has asked her not to confess her love to him.
While everyone in the house is trying to fix each other’s love life, Himanshi takes the lead and reveals the conversation she had with Arhaan outside the house. She says that Arhaan cried and justified his side of the story. He said if Rashami had to be friends with Sidharth after his exit, all his efforts of taking a stand for her went in vain.
Later in the day, an argument breaks out between Vishal, Mahira and Vishal’s brother Kunal. Standing up for his brother, Vishal confronts Mahira and warns her not to misbehave with Kunal. Irked by this, Mahira further provokes Vishal when Kunal makes a comment directed at Mahira’s father. This turns the argument into an ugly battle between Vishal, Kunal, Mahira and Aakash (Mahira’s brother).

Shoppers Stop Reported Revenue of Rs.1300 Crs + 3.1% and EBITDA of Rs.102 Crs +1.7% in Q3FY20

Kolkata, January 31, 2020: Shoppers Stop Ltd. (NSE: SHOPERSTOP | BSE: 532638) reported Sales of Rs.1300 Crs and EBITDA of Rs.102 Crs in the quarter (Non-GAAP). GAAP adjusted, the turnover is Rs. 994 Crs and EBITDA of Rs.204 Crs.
Overall Performance
Commenting on the quarterly performance of the company, Mr. Rajiv Suri, Customer Care Associate, Managing Director & Chief Executive Officer, Shoppers Stop Ltd. said, “In a challenging economic environment we found opportunities to seed future growth for the company by aggressive expansion through internal accruals. During the year we opened 28 stores (8 Department and 20 Beauty) and plan to open 23 Stores (4 Department, 11 Beauty and 8 Airport stores) in Q4. This expansion will add circa Rs.500 Crs top-line on an annualized basis, more importantly these stores have been EBITDA accretive within the first quarter of operation”.
During this fiscal the company has made large investments in Digital and Information Technology Transformation for Rs.30 Crs. These investments will enable us to sharpen our analytic capabilities which will improve overall customer experience and personalization besides supporting our growth.
For the Quarter
Against a strong base of Q3 FY19 and a subdued retail landscape with a dampened festive season, the Revenue growth was muted LTL (-1%). Nonetheless, the company proactively increased its productivity and efficiencies by keeping the costs in control (LTL costs lower than last year).
The company has added 15 stores during the quarter of which 6 are department stores and 9 beauty doors taking the total footprint to 89 Department stores and 135 Beauty doors across 42 cities in India as at December, 31st 2019. Our First Citizen Loyalty program contributed 84% (+5% Y-o-Y basis) of Revenue. The Beauty segment grew 9.6% and we are confident that this growth will sustain in the forthcoming quarters on the back of new beauty stores, upgrading the beauty experience in existing stores, launch of new brands and strong Omni channel support. The company launched 4 new brands in beauty. Our one-of-its-kind Personal Shopper program grew by 5%.

India becoming a 5 trillion economy by 2025 depends on policy decision that government takes now. While digitalisation will remain cornerstone of strategy, Government should put equal emphasis on building blocks i.e. Manufacturing and R&D, making Indian manufacturing as most favoured destination. As environment sustainability is the key to the future, government should provide incentive on the promotion of sustainable solutions that will help in reducing India’s carbon footprint and promote circular economy. The Union budget 2020 needs to be focused on forming policies that support the businesses working towards adoption of green practices. Promoting responsible use of plastics and efforts towards reducing carbon emission should be of prime importance and any budgetary intervention in this regard will be a positive step.
Also, to further accelerate the adoption of Electric Vehicle, the government should eliminate the customs duty of 5 per cent from Lithium-ion cells which will help to promote local manufacturing of the batteries in the country. Besides this, the government needs to focus on incentivizing companies building EV ecosystems like installing charging stations, battery swapping stations and building robust EV Infrastructure for long term sustainability and reduction in cost.

Mumbai, 27th January 2020: EsselWorld, India’s leading entertainment destination celebrated India’s 71st Republic Day by felicitating 26 Mumbaikars who are selflessly and actively involved in the city’s social and environmental development and welfare. In association with Fever 104 FM, the amusement park honored these 26 hero-citizens to create awareness about their inspirational journeys thereby inspiring the diverse generations of India to do their bit and create a compelling wave of social change. Mr. Paresh Mishra, Senior Vice President, Sales and Marketing Head, EsselWorld Leisure Pvt. Ltd. along with RJ Glenn / RJ Ruchi felicitated these unsung heroes of Mumbai.

Some of the inspirational individuals felicitated by EsselWorld and Fever 104FM on the occasion were:
·         Advocate Afroz Shah, the man responsible for the Versova beach cleanup in 2016. Since then his resilience has inspired many including the United Nations and elevated the responsibility of beach and other water bodies cleanup into a global movement.
·         Dr. Uday Modi runs a free tiffin service in Bhayandar for the elderly who have been abandoned by their families. Through his tiffin service, Dr. Modi feeds close to 500 senior citizens on a daily basis.
·         Yuki Ellias is a renowned theatre performer and a corporate coach. Apart from making global waves through her performance and effective corporate training modules, Yuki has also taken the social responsibility of taking theatre to the slum kids of Mumbai on her shoulders.
·         Sangeeta Chakrapani initiated the Together Foundation, a non-profit organization for autistic children and adults. The organization aims towards preparing these individuals towards their independent living by creating a dynamic and experience based environment. The Foundation is primarily a bakery where these individuals learn about navigating their lives through simple tasks and chores and bake a range of sweet goodies and vegan products.
·         Nikit Surve is a 25 years old Mumbai school teacher who has dedicated his life towards the noble and brave cause of Wildcat Research, Tracking and Conservation.
·         Geetanjali is a compassionate Mumbaikar who bakes for different orphanage children and has also set up a public library for them.
·         Ogden Fernandes is a Biker and Youtuber who takes traffic rules very seriously. He wants the citizens to understand the importance of traffic safety and not take it for granted. He records and corrects people who violate traffic regulations.
·         Dimple Parmar is the Co-Founder and CEO of Love Heals Cancer. It is an organization dedicated towards improving the quality of life for cancer patients and their caregivers.
·         Sunchika Pandey is a social media hero who transformed the Police Twitter handle making it an instant hit with the citizens.
Other than the above, EsselWorld and Fever 104 FM felicitated 16 more such inspirational individuals. Post the felicitation program a special musical evening of entertainment by talented musicians was organized for these esteemed guests as a token of appreciation and gratitude. The Musical evening extravaganza was also extended to the visitors of EsselWorld. Scheduled from 3pm – 6pm at the Rain Dance stage, the captivating musical performances were open for the visitors to unwind and enjoy their evening. EsselWorld took the Republic Day pride a step further for their visitors by extending their Freak – out – Friday offer on that day.
