Talking about the journey to be an author, Mini says, “I grew up listening to the stories of Mahabharat and Ramayan as I belong to the brahmin family. Researching about mythology is like my passion that I'm doing from my childhood days. I read many mythological books but whenever I read about Mahabharata, one character that always attached me was Ashwathama (Draunacharya’s Son). From the last three years, I'm doing research on him and I don't know why Ashwathama's journey attracts me that much.”
“My friends and my sister Nisha encouraged me to write a book on him. Thereon, I wrote a small draft and I showed it to my friends and they really appreciated me. It took me two years to complete this book, ‘Seeking Death- a boon with a curse’, which is a story of a girl, who is attached to the pain and suffering of Dawapar Yug Ashwathama, who is said to be alive in this Kalyug,” she adds.
Mini met with a lot of challenges while writing this book, she shares, “While I decided to write a book, I was clueless that what to write, how to start. I had information in pieces and didn’t know how to combine it in a story. I again read books but this time I was not reading as the reader rather by putting myself in the shoe itself. While I was reading, I started highlighting and observing things that how Author of the book is framing their thoughts into the words and I started applying on my own thoughts
Revealing more about the books, she wants to explore as an author, Mini says, “I always liked reading mythological books and I'm also a big fan of Devdutt Pattanaik and Amish Tripathi. I have a good collection of books that are based on Hinduism and our culture.”
Founder & CEO, Lieper Publication, Faheem Bhat says, “Mini first approached us last year somewhere in mid-October. The first thing I noticed about her was the sheer enthusiasm with which she presented herself, I was certain from that alone that whatever she had bought for us to see would be something to reckon with and so it was.”
“After reading the manuscript, we were motivated enough to take it a step forward and discuss the book some more with her. Right off the bat, her writing style is fluid and does an excellent job of painting a picture, the attention to details and the little nuances and character traits in the story made it very relatable and captivating and that's what a good book is. Now as the proceedings are going, we plan to launch the book sometime along the lines of March and April, we are very excited about the book launch and honoured to be the one's exposing this brilliant writer's work to the world,” he concludes.
