31st March 2022, Hyderabad: Mahindra University, one of India’s fastest growing multidisciplinary education institute, celebrated its first ever Francophonie Day titled: Journées de la Francophonie 2022 from 22nd March to 24th March 2022. The 3-Day event organized to celebrate the unifying spirit of French language and Culture was inaugurated by the CentraleSupélec's visiting Leadership team Délégué Général du Groupe des Ecoles Centrale led by Prof. Gérard Creuzet. Also present on the occasion were Dr. Yaj Medury, Vice-Chancellor, Mahindra University, Deans & Head of Humanities and Social Sciences Department.
“With nearly 300 million French speaking people across the globe, French is one of the widely spoken languages in the world and the event is a testimony to the unifying spirit of the French language and Culture that bring together people from every continent” said Dr. Yaj Medury, Vice-Chancellor, Mahindra University.
The three-day event, saw many interested students compete for prizes under topics such as poster making (“Afficiel!”), Karaoke and Poetry recitation (“Oh chante hé!” and “Po-aime!”), and Quiz entitled titled “Qui say?”. The competitions culminated in a Soirée francophone, a cultural evening that brought together the university faculty and students to listen to French tunes performed by the Francophone students at the University, followed by prizes distributed by Prof. Yaj Medury, Prof. Bishnu Pal, Prof. Ramakrishna Velamuri and Dr. Mythili N and vote of thanks.
