The gradually increasing preference for Electric Vehicles as a mode of transport, across the country - metros, tier-2 and 3 markets, and growing awareness towards environment conservation, has driven brands to add pace to their expansion drive, roll-out innovative products that are high-power, stylish, and sustainable.
The Department of Heavy Industries, in its updated ‘Faster Adoption and Manufacturing of Hybrid and Electric vehicles (FAME-II) scheme’ aims to support 55000 e-4 Wheeler Passenger Cars, and 10 lakh e-2 Wheelers apart from other EVs' platforms. Indian Government’s policy initiatives over the last couple of years has accelerated the adoption of e-mobility, Hon'ble Road Transport and Highways Minister, Shri Nitin Gadkari outlined recently - 5,44,643 are electric two-wheelers while 54,252 are electric four-wheelers and above, as per the centralised data base, VAHAN as on August, 2022.
