20 plus school bands vie for chance to play on MPIM route

Mumbai 7th February: With an intent to create Police - Public interface and awareness about health and fitness for people of all ages, Maharashtra Police will be organising the “Maharashtra Police International Marathon 2020” (MPIM) on 9th February, 2020, in Mumbai. In order to mobilize the young generation to participate in this mega event, MPIM has organised 'Marathon Rockers', a school band competition which will take place during the expo (6th, 7th and 8th February).
20 plus bands from various schools like St. Paul's Convent School and St. Paul's Boys High School, Dadar, Don Bosco High School, Vikroli, Yashodham High school, Kandivali, Gloria Convent School, Byculla, D.J. Gurukul English School, Ghatkopar have registered for the competition and these bands will showcase their talent at the expo everyday between 5 pm to 7 pm. The top 7 bands will be selected for the finals on Saturday 8th February. The finalists will be judged by a panel of experts led by Remo D'souza and Sunali Rathod and the winners will get a chance to play enroute on the event day (9th Feb 2020) along with the Police Band at most prominent junctions.
Top 4 winners will also receive a cash prize of 1,00,000, 50,000, 25,000 and 10,000 respectively along with a chance to charge up the runners and be a part of this #MarathonMovement.
