Tahira Kashyap Khuranna closes show for Designer Pooja Shroff at Lakme Fashion Week 2020

Pooja Shroff showcases her spring/summer 2020 Collection
Light as feathers, as fleeting as a breeze. One moment they breathed pink, the next they faded. The eve of cherry blossom has long played muse for artists and creative folk alike and this season, designer Pooja Shroff translates its ephemeral essence into her spring/summer 2020 collection. As the label clocks in ten years, the lineup offers a modern iteration to the designer's most loved creations over the years. The collection has been aptly named 'Saar' to encapsulate the designer's journey over the course of a decade.
Having previously served up a successful amalgamation of Indonesian and Indian Batik art forms in textiles, the designer now trains her sights towards the nuanced heritage of Japan for inspiration. Cherry blossoms are traditionally considered as the harbinger of spring, a symbolic beacon of the fleeting nature of life and the subsequent time for renewal. The multi-cultural inspiration finds context in the collection which puts together popular Japanese silhouettes, like sumo pants and kimonos with beautifully woven Indian fabrics. The lineup witnesses sustainable and organic textiles, including chanderi, cotton, chanderi organza and organza doused in the hues of aster purple, buttercup yellow, cream, gold, quilt blue and Bok Choy green. A closer look at the detailing offers handmade tassels and textures that have been meticulously embroidered onto the garments.

About: Pooja Shroff, a reputed member of the Young FICCI Ladies Organisation and the IMC Ladies Wing, made her debut at Amazon India Fashion Week autumn/winter '17 which earned her many accolades.
