University of Kashmir inks pact with Stribes for enhancing industry engagement of students


Srinagar, Dec 22: In order to bridge the industry-academia engagement
for the benefit of students, the Centre for Career Planning and Counselling (CCPC), University of Kashmir has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Deepmindz Innovations Private Limited, which runs STRIBES a virtual platform for bringing industry to the campuses.
Under the banner of the STRIBES, there will be an industry engagement calendar comprising various engagements including leadership talks, brand storytelling, potential internship projects and incubation, research and development opportunities for students of the University of Kashmir.
Director CCPC, Prof. Mohammad Shafi on the occasion said the centre would support STRIBES in structuring incubation, Research and Development, internship opportunities for students.
The STRIBES in collaboration with University of Kashmir will offer exposure to the talent produced by the varsity through all channels including digital, social among others to increase the employability of the students from various streams including management, finance, IT, technology among others. Director, Deepmindz Innovations Private Limited, Faisal Kawoosa said, “With active support from the industry we will drive holistic growth and development of the students of the university increasing their employability and give them an opportunity to showcase their talent and capabilities.”
There will be frequent engagement with industry leaders as well as business organisations including trade bodies for various academic activities. Director, UGC-Human Resource Development Centre, Prof. Shabir Ahmad Bhat who was present on the occasion highlighted the role of the centre and the importance of the industry-academia engagement. “This centre has been my dream project and seeing it growing is like a dream coming true. I am happy to see the centre contributing placing students for various jobs in the private sector,” Prof. Bhat said.
The event was facilitated by the Consultant CCPC, Dr. Bilal Pandow. “The centre would actively involve industry driven advanced skilling, master class sessions exclusively for students honing their skills and making them industry ready,” Dr. Bilal said.
Consultant CCPC, Hina Kazmi presented a vote of thanks to all the dignitaries present on the occasion.
