About Karadi Tales:

Karadi Tales is an award-winning independent children’s book publishing house. It was founded in 1996 by a group of writers, musicians, and educators who wanted to create a space for Indian culture in children’s literature. The organization was a pioneer in the children’s audiobooks market in India.

Karadi Tales also produces high-quality picture books that feature a variety of illustration styles including traditional Indian art such as Gond, Warli, and Kalamkari, apart from palette-knife art, watercolours, mixed media, and more, with the view of enhancing children’s visual literacy and exposure to various forms of art. The books, that are written by gifted authors, cover subjects such as environment conservation, bullying prevention, kindness, animal welfare, gender, and adoption without sounding preachy.

Karadi Tales picture books have won international acclaim, and sold translation rights all over the world, with editions in Thai, Chinese, Bahasa, German, French, Japanese, Portuguese, Italian, Nepali, and Spanish. In 2020, Karadi Tales was named the Audiobook Publisher of the Year at the London Book Fair International Excellence Awards. This year, its sister company, Karadi Path, won the London Book Fair's International Excellence Award for the category - Educational Learning Resources.
