With the Metro Catch Up Plan, the MMRDA team is working dedicatedly to achieve several milestones.

Recently, the MMRDA team working on the Metro Line 5 Project (Thane -Bhiwandi- Kalyan) achieved another milestone! Metro Line 5 is a 24.9 KM long metro line that will offer a faster, efficient & safer commute option to north-eastern-area of MMR.

First Marine Pile Cap in Kasheli Creek for Metro Line 5 was casted recently.  For this significant achievement, our focus has been on taking the NOC from MMB & IWAI for mobilization of such advanced machinery & commencement of works in such a short span of time.

The total length of the Metro Viaduct crossing the Kasheli Creek is 550m. The viaduct consists of 13 piers in total, out of which 9 piers are in water body & remaining 5 on land.

For the casting of the first set of Pile Cap on the Kasheli Creek waterbody, our metro team has been working towards overcoming various challenges. This comes with the implementation of the Metro Catch Up Plan. It includes maintaining the barge at its position during tidal variations, making temporary platforms, reinforcement fixing, etc. in these weather conditions was extremely challenging. Overcoming all the challenges is a noteworthy achievement.
