Inauguration Function of "SAKSHAM - 2022"

¯  सक्षम-2022 (संरक्षण क्षमता महोत्सव) is an important national program initiated by Government of India for energy security, sustainable development and environment protection of our country. 

¯  The ultimate goal of the program is to curb wasteful expenditure on fossil fuel, reduce the growing burden on foreign exchequer and protect the environment from the adverse effect of Green House Gases emanating from burning of fossil fuels.

¯  Petroleum Conservation Research Association (PCRA), under the aegis of Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas and State Level coordinators of Oil Industry take up various initiatives with the active involvement and support from the concerned State Government to spread mass awareness.

¯  Petroleum Conservation Research Association (PCRA) has been in the forefront to create mass awareness towards conservation of petroleum products, promoting fuel-efficient equipment and helping the government in proposing policies and strategies for petroleum conservation.

¯  With the same earnest सक्षम (संरक्षण क्षमता महोत्सव) 2022 has been organized during 11th April, 2022 to 30th April, 2022, with a tagline Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav through Green & Clean Energy (हरित और स्वच्छ ऊर्जा अपनाए, आज़ादी का अमृत महोत्सव मनाए) all over the country. 

¯  Also, from 11th April 2022 to 30th April 2022, Saksham (संरक्षण क्षमता महोत्सव) 2022 has been organized all over the country with the slogan "Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav through Green & Clean Energy" across India.

¯  As a part of this, the Inaugural function was organized on 11th April, 2022 at 11:00 am in the presence of Hon'ble Shri Vijay Waghmare IAS, Secretary-Maharashtra, Department of Food and Civil Supplies.

¯  Smt. Maya Meher, winner of Shiv chhatrapati & Arjuna Awardee, was the guest of honor at the function.

¯  The Saksham-2022 stall was inaugurated by the chief guest and a rangoli competition was organized at the inauguration ceremony in which school children participated.

¯  College students performed a street play on Green & Clean Energy.

¯  The' Best Depot Award 'was given by the chief guest for improving the maximum kilometer per liter (KMPL) at State Level for the maximum KMPL improvement during the period from April 2020 to March 2021 over the baseline of previous year in the Category- STUs in Maharashtra State.

¯  Chief guests asked questions on fuel saving to the school children present at the event and prizes were given to the students.

¯  The event was attended by Maharashtra State Government officials, senior officers of all oil companies, officers, dealers, professors, teachers, students as well as senior officials of BEST, PMPML and MSRTC.

¯  Various activities are planned during the month such as group conversation / debate for school children, graffiti competition in college, fuel efficient driving competition, article writing, press conference / press release, jingles on TV / radio and talk show etc.

¯  During Saksham-2022, about 16 types / 800 activities have been organized in the state of 

Maharashtra.

School students and teachers were felicitated for their outstanding contribution towards fuel and oil conservation.

¯  The program was concluded by Shri Abhijit Ghosh, PCRA Director.
