‘Human’ completes one year, here are 5 shocking moments from the Disney+ Hotstar thriller that made us shudder!

The world of medical science is one that few people comprehend fully. 'Human', a show that explores uncharted territory, delves into the shadowy underbelly of the medical world.

Centred around human clinical drug trials, the show touches upon themes like the value of human life, medical malpractice, class divide and ramifications of a fast-paced medical science. A topic that hasn't been explored before - a suspense thriller that delves deep into a world which people are unaware of, a complete eye opener!

The series is directed by Mozez Singh and Vipul Amrutlal Shah and features Shefali Shah, Kirti Kulhari, Seema Biswas, Ram Kapoor, Vishal Jethwa and Pranali Ghogare in key roles. It is made under the banner Sunshine Pictures and is available to stream on Disney+ Hotstar.

As the show completes one year today / tomorrow, here are five shocking moments from the medical thriller that will compel you to rewatch the series!

How humane are the medical practitioners?

In the first scene of the series, we see trials being run on mice who die. The next words that follow are “human trials have begun”...a gut-wrenching moment that hints at the deep rooted medical malpractices. As they stealthily discard the dead mice into the water and they drown, our hearts sink waiting for the entire story to unfold.

Roma Maa, truly a mother?

In a flashback it is shown how helpless, innocent girls are being sold at birth, given hormonal injections only to escape to an even more horrible world. As they reach out to Roma Ma (Seema Biswas) and believe that they are going to live a good life, they fall into the trap of another group of unethical medical practitioners who experiment with their minds for their own good. Next, before they know they are being manipulated and tortured. Their creepy laughter at the helplessness and ignorance makes us shudder with fear

Is curing the trauma more traumatic?

As we peek into the life of Gauri (Shefali Shah), all we can see is darkness. Shefali Shah as Dr. Gauri Nath brings a sort of menacing layer to the show, taking it to the next level. It isn't just one of her best performances ever, but also one of the most interesting characters we have seen on OTT. Be it losing her father and being shunned by her family or losing her son - the trauma has surely settled in her mind, while she says she is trying to build a hospital for traumatic patients. Will she cure them or will they curb in the process, this question is what makes the show even more interesting

Caught in a crossfire!

While everyone is involved in a vicious cycle, Neil, a photojournalist, through fate or just bad luck, is caught in the crossfire of these medical malpractices…what lies ahead? How will his story unfold? The show beautifully showcases how people intentionally or unintentionally get entangled in tough situations

Is this the end?

In this medical thriller we see how only Dr. Saira Sabharwal gets to the bottom of this trying to show us some light at the end of the tunnel. The unfolding of her story is what makes us numb. We still think…is that really the end she deserved?

One year later, the show is still as engaging. You can binge the show only on Disney+ Hotstar!
