Nestasia Strengthens Artisan Network: 125+ Karigars Onboarded, Plans To Launch Welfare Program for Families

The brand is also laying a solid foundation for growing this network and hopes to have over 400 karigars on its payroll by the end of Q3, FY 23-24.

To meet the increasing demand online and offline, we will be welcoming more artisans into our circle, aiming to reach 400-500 individuals within the next six months.” 

As part of Nestasia’s commitment to holistic development, the company is working on introducing a comprehensive welfare program for the families of artisans. Recognizing the importance of nurturing the next generation, the brand aims to provide opportunities for children in these families to acquire education and vocational skills.

"Conversations with our artisans made us realise that a constant worry for them was their child’s future. While each artisan is themself skilled, most of them lack formal education and the ability to guide their kids effectively. To address this problem, we want to launch the Nestasia Artisan Junior Educational and Training Program (ArtJET) which will provide access to education, vocational training courses and guidance to our artisans’ children. This will not only empower the children but also boost the morale of the artisans who might continue with us on a longer journey. " said Aditi Murarka.

This program will include training initiatives, financial assistance for skill-building courses, and partnerships with organizations that specialize in vocational training. For any young adult interested in learning the artisanal trade, Nestasia would offer training and placement opportunities in their own facilities. By equipping the younger generation with essential skills, Nestasia aims to create a sustainable impact and promote self-reliance among these families.
