Saving Lives, One Donation at a Time: Cosmo Foundation's Blood Drive Creates Ripples of Compassion

New Delhi, 23rd June 2023: Cosmo Foundation, the community outreach initiative of Cosmo First, organized a Blood Donation Drive on 22nd June 2023. This drive was held between 10 AM to 4 PM at the Reception Area of Corporate One Baani Building, Jasola District Centre, and witnessed enthusiastic participation from the local corporates & community members. This 100% voluntary blood donation is a first-of-its-kind initiative aimed to inspire individuals to follow the spirit and rich traditions of Seva and Sahyog.

Speaking on the initiative, Ms Yamini Jaipuria, Managing Trustee, Cosmo Foundation said, “In India, there is a need for blood transfusion every 2 seconds, with an annual requirement of 14.6 million units of blood. Unfortunately, there is always a shortage of 1 million units. Through this blood donation drive, Cosmo Foundation is proud to contribute to the nationwide Raktdaan Amrit Mahotsav which was launched on June 14th in Delhi by SP Baghel, Union Minister of State for Health and Family Welfare. This initiative demonstrates the power of collective efforts in saving lives and promoting a healthier society.

As a part of their care outreach, the Foundation also distributed 4,000 blankets and ready-to-eat meals across different hospitals in Delhi namely Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital, Delhi State Cancer Institute, National Institute of Tuberculosis and Respiratory Diseases, Safdarjung Hospital, and Shree Aggarsain International Hospital. Cosmo Foundation has also planted more than 50,000 trees across India under its “Go Green Initiative”. Additionally, Cosmo Foundation has invested approximately 1.12 CR in its efforts to provide clean and accessible water to communities in four different states, including Gujarat, Maharashtra, Himachal Pradesh, and Delhi which have impacted the lives of over 100,000 community members. Through these activities, Cosmo Foundation is devoted to transforming the lives of people via its various efforts across education, health, and environmental initiatives.
