Milaap partners with HCG Hospital to host Bird Photography exhibition


The proceeds from the event will go towards supporting the treatment of paediatric cancer 

 

Mumbai, August 29th, 2023: Milaap, India’s largest crowdfunding platform, has joined hands with HCG (Nagpur) Hospital to organise a Bird Photography exhibition in Mumbai, commencing today. The exhibition showcases a remarkable collection of photographs captured by Dr. Suchitra Mehta, a renowned psycho-oncologist, through her insightful expedition to Costa Rica. The proceeds from this out-of-the-box exhibition will be directed exclusively towards providing medical aid to all the bravehearted paediatric cancer patients currently undergoing treatment at the HCG Centre, Nagpur.

 

The Nehru Art Gallery in Worli, Mumbai, sets the stage for this captivating week-long exhibition. The event, inaugurated on August 29th, saw the presence of distinguished guests including Dr. Purvish Parikh, a renowned medical oncologist, Subhash Awachat, a distinguished photographer  and social activist and Bollywood actress, Swaroop Sampat.

The exhibition showcases a magnificent collection of photographs all captured through the discerning lens of Dr. Suchitra Mehta. The inaugural day witnessed a vibrant gathering of visitors, their enthusiasm beautifully mirroring their keen fascination for the captivating images on display. Each photograph, a testament to Dr. Suchitra Mehta's artistry, seemed to cast a spell on the attendees, creating an ambiance of awe and appreciation
Master Ansh, who is currently undergoing chemotherapy at HCG Hospital, Nagpur, added a poignant touch to the event. His family is also actively running a fundraising campaign on Milaap to support his treatment. Master Ansh shared his personal journey as a young cancer patient, shedding light on the challenges faced by children in similar circumstances. His heartfelt account resonated deeply with the event's attendees, effectively raising awareness about the vital role of support, empathy, and compassion in guiding these young fighters through this harrowing chapter of their lives.

These children, suffering from life-threatening disorders, need a ray of hope to know that they are not alone in this fight. Such initiatives help boost the morale of these young patients and their families, which alone fights half the war against cancer. I am glad that we have the support of Milaap in this endeavour.”

The proceeds generated from this event will be directed towards Shram Sadhana Charitable Trust, a nonprofit organisation dedicated to providing psychosocial and financial support to the marginalised communities facing resource constraints. These funds will be allocated exclusively to benefit paediatric cancer patients receiving treatment at HCG Nagpur.

The 7-day exhibition will remain open for public viewing until September 4th, operating between 11 am and 7 pm. Other eminent personalities like Devendra Fadnavis, Deputy Chief Minister, Ms. Sofia Salas Monge, Minister Counsellor & Consul General of Costa Rica and Riteish Deshmukh, a celebrated Bollywood actor are also expected in attendance to show their support for the cause.
