Atlassian recognised in India’s Best Workplaces for Women 2023 by the Great Place to Work Institute

Atlassian features in the top 50 list for the third consecutive year

Bengaluru, September 27, 2023 – Atlassian Corporation (NASDAQ: TEAM), a leading provider of team collaboration and productivity software and the maker of Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket, and Trello, has been recognised in India’s top 50 Best Workplaces for Women 2023 in the large organisations category by the Great Place to Work Institute for the third consecutive year. The accolade follows the company being ranked #8 in India’s top 25 Best Companies to Work For earlier this year.

Atlassian commenced operations in India in 2018 with 60 employees in Bengaluru. Five years later it has grown to over 1,700 employees across 17 states making India its fastest-growing location. The company plans to continue growing its team over the coming years by hiring best-in-class tech talent.

Atlassian’s distributed work policy, Team Anywhere, has been particularly successful in supporting women in its workforce, allowing employees to choose where they work - from home, in the office or a combination. The flexible policy also allows employees to work from a location other than their primary residence for up to 90 days. Since practising Team Anywhere, Atlassian has doubled the number of its women employees in India to 27%.

Avani Prabhakar, Global Head of Talent and HR Business Partners, Atlassian said, “Featuring in this list for another year is a testament to our commitment to promoting a diverse, equitable, and inclusive environment at Atlassian.

Women are underrepresented in the technology industry, and disproportionately impacted by a lack of flexible working options. Our Team Anywhere policy is helping to change that, attracting more women into our company and providing a flexible and supportive environment for them to develop and thrive. We truly believe that trusting employees to choose where they work, and in a way that best suits them, helps level the playing field.”

Atlassian offers a number of initiatives to help women grow in their careers. LeaP is a leadership program for women engineers, comprised of a three-month one-on-one mentoring program where participants are paired with relevant mentors. She Talks Tech is an inspiring tech talk series that provides space for women in tech to connect, network, and learn from each other.

Atlassian also offers an attractive employee benefits package, including 26 weeks of paid parental leave for birthing parents, plus various modes of child day care to help employees balance work and personal life.

Organisations must meet certain criteria to be eligible for India's Best Workplaces for Women 2023, including women employees constituting at least 10% of the workforce and sharing at least 70% positive feedback on the Trust IndexTM assessment, Great Place To Work’s global framework used to measure employee experience.
