New attraction in Jerusalem: High LIGHT JLM The dazzling spectacle in Jerusalem's skies

27th March 2024

A new attraction in Jerusalem, a sound and color laser spectacle will spread across space and incorporate large parts of the nation's capital. The spectacle has been initiated and supported by the Ministry of Tourism.

The Capital's Laser Show is a hymn of light and music, honoring the texture, history, and culture of the city.

From the Governor's Palace Promenade, the city of Jerusalem unfolds before us - a place like no other worldwide.

A city with such a huge diversity of cultures, and in its heart - the hope of reaching the long, yearned-for peace.

The spectacle tells the story of the city and communal life within it and all over Israel through three different shows: A tale of light, a story of peace, and the narrative of an eternal hope for harmony. A unique remote-control system was installed to control the many lasers located far from the promenade. This system was designed following strict ecological requirements, creating a spectacular effect without polluting the air or damaging the environment.

The Minister of Tourism, Haim Katz, said: "Jerusalem is major attraction for tourists visiting Israel, and in recent years, we have invested over 400 million NIS to improve tourists experience in the city.  The High LIGHT JLM project and all the planned developments in the Governor's Palace vicinity and ridge complex will bring significant traffic to the area. The unique story of Israel's capital city will be presented to visitors and connect culture, history, and technology. I invite our friends from around the world to visit Jerusalem and enjoy the dazzling show”.

The original music accompanying the artistic program was composed to sensitively tell the story of the city and our history, combining motifs from different cultures and religions alongside songs that are considered inalienable assets of the Jewish people. The unique synergy between East and West, ancient and new, generates an entrenched and contemporary spectacle marked by world music that stems from the notion that in the future Jerusalem, there will be room for everyone, and peace shall prevail.

The Show's Location: The Governor's Palace Promenade.

Show Days: Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday

Show Times: 19:00, 20:00, 21:00

Show Duration: 20 minutes.

*The show is open to the public free of charge. No need to book in advance.
