A new lease of life to adults and children diagnosed with malignant and non-cancerous haematological disorders

Navi Mumbai, 19 March 2025: Apollo Hospitals Navi Mumbai (AHNM) continues its remarkable journey in advanced Bone Marrow Transplant (BMT) procedures, achieving a significant milestone with 78 transplants. The hospital has demonstrated a long-term success rate of over 70%, successfully treating both adult and pediatric patients, including international cases. This underscores AHNM’s leadership in delivering high-quality, life-saving transplant services.

Conditions like leukemia, thalassemia, sickle cell disease, severe aplastic anaemia, multiple myeloma, myelodysplastic syndrome & some rare kinds of immunodeficiency’s present complex medical challenges and often require advanced interventions like bone marrow transplantation (BMT) for a chance at long-term recovery. These patients are at a high risk for developing infections and other complications due to the intense conditioning required prior to BMT and slow post-transplant immune recovery.

The BMT procedure involves replaces the existing diseased or dysfunctional bone marrow when it does not produce enough healthy blood cells.
