Chairman, Anantha Padmanabhan urges the industry to stay calm and assures for better future

Mumbai, 12th August, 2019: All India Gem & Jewellery Domestic Council (GJC), presents the 8th edition of one of its flagship networking event, GJC NITE 2019, an annual networking event organised along the side-lines of the India International Jewellery Show (IIJS Premiere 2019). GJC NITE 2019 gives a unique opportunity to manufacturers, retailers and key constituents of the gem & jewellery sector to forge new business relationships and a dazzling platform to unveil the exclusive and designer jewellery collection by leading fashion brands. This year, the expected footfall is around 1,200 members of the domestic gem & jewellery trade. Besides the trade fraternity, the event also sees attendance of prominent personalities, members of the media as well as prominent trade associations from across the country.
The oomph factor will this year was Actresses Zarine Khan, Shamita Shetty, Sophie Choudhry and Michelle Shetty who sizzled the show as showstoppers for Swarovski Gemstones fashion sequence at the GJC NITE 2019, walking the ramp and showcasing some of India’s finest jewellery creations.
Mr. Anantha Padmanaban, Chairman, GJC, said, “GJC NITE is a celebration of Indian craftsmanship and creativity, which has resulted in mesmerizing handcrafted jewellery for centuries. GJC NITE unites jewellers from across the country as they get together to showcase their artistry to their peers and the world at large. GJC has conjured an evening comprising an elegant mix of fashion, style and glamour to delight all attendees.”
He motivated the members and the industry by saying, “We are on the right path. Will urge the industry to stay calm and promise that we will see better days very soon and better future.”
Mr. Shaankar Sen, Vice Chairman, GJC, said, “GJC NITE is a tribute to the boundless talent and skill possessed by Indian jewellers, artisans and craftsmen. The Union Government has facilitated several schemes for skill development/enhancement to showcase their talent to global buyers and GJC has undertaken several initiatives to showcase abilities and proficiency. The event which is held along the sidelines of the India International Jewellery Show (IIJS) each year is the perfect opportunity for trade members to relax, while exploring real business opportunities.”
He also added that, “The industry is going through a tough time and in a transformational phase. We all need to do self-introspection. It is important for us to keep abreast of latest technology and adapt newer ones to move ahead along with the time, taxation processes and promote make in India.”
Mr. Manoj Kumar Jha, Convener GJC Nite, said, “Every year, GJC Nite has scaled up the quality of designs and the experience.
