In ‘Hindustan Meri Jaan’ Druv blends contemporary western arrangements with Indian musical motifs and lyrically anchors the song around the country’s multi-faceted character, with the refrain “Rang tera bhi, Rang mera bhi” (you have your colors, I have mycolors; we all belong). The song is composed and sung by Druv Kent with lyrics by Hina Joshi, produced by Gaurav Godkhindi, and video shot by TED fellow Puneet Rakheja.
The video is shot by Druv’s longtime video collaborator, Puneet Rakheja. Puneet spent a year travelling around India filming various things large and small as vignettes of everyday India – the country and people we see in the fields, cities and villages. The resulting video is a joyful celebration of India, set to the rhythms of ‘Hindustan Meri Jaan’, allowing a visual palette to see just how wide the country’s people and colors are.
Kant, ex-Singapore based banker and son of the soil landed himself in music after finding his heart out there.
