Mumbai, India, 11thJanuary 2020: 22-year-old Indian-American pop artist Avanti Nagral announced the release of her new single “Sneaking Around”, a global pop track influenced by Indian and Latin sounds that breaks stereotypes with its fun yet meaningful visual.
Produced by Emmy-Award winning Pablo Munguia; written/performed by Avanti Nagral, and worked on by an all-Berklee team, the single was written and produced across Mumbai, New York, Spain and Los Angeles. The music video was directed and choreographed by Bollywood choreographer Mudassar Khan and produced by Golden Milk Media.
The single embraces a stylistic narrative that portrays the duality of tradition and modernity.
Maybe it’s the reggaeton beats, the tabla-dhol synthesis, the anthemic chorus or the accompanying Bollywood-inspired music video, but the track fuses the tradition of the East with the modernism of the West in a globally appealing manner.
Avanti Nagral who has the ability to emulate her sheer vulnerability through her bouncy vocals states, “Sneaking Around is a track that musically and visually celebrates the multiple worlds each of us live in. You can be two things at once, and how you balance that duality is totally up to you. I loved working with industry stalwarts like Pablo and Mudassar on the track!”
Pablo Munguia who has worked with the likes of Seal and Britney Spears said, “Working on the single with Avanti was great fun because she knew exactly what she wanted, and was always motivated to make Sneaking Around be the best it could be.”
Mudassar Khan of Dance India Dance fame states, “I had a blast shooting this video, Avanti is amazing and very talented”.
Replete with dance sequences, stunning outfits, stellar cinematography, sassy lyrics and sultry vocal runs, Avanti’s song ensures unveils every side of the story it relays. Watch out for this quadruple threat – singer, writer, dancer, and actor – Avanti and her music are a force to be reckoned with.
