On the occasion of International Women’s Day, Sachin Tendulkar took to Twitter to share a heartwarming video. Reminiscing about his childhood and early days in the sport, Sachin candidly spoke about attributing his success to five women- His mother, aunt, wife, mother-in-law and daughter.
Sachin opens up about his relationship with his mother in the video and talks about how she always looked after him and his health. Speaking about his aunt, Sachin reminisces about the time he moved into her home, as it was closer to the cricket field. He thanks his wife Anjali and her parents for supporting his decisions on and off the field. Lastly, Sachin speaks about how he is proud of his daughter Sara for turning into a wonderful young woman and staying true to her roots.

Sachin features in a new episode on SPARKS an award-winning miniseries by DBS Bank. The episode celebrates the journey of Even Cargo, an Indian social enterprise that is paving the way for women-only delivery personnel. Even Cargo is a Delhi-based enterprise that trains and employs women from marginalized backgrounds as delivery associates with some of the world’s largest e-commerce companies.
The series is centered around the theme “Everyday Heroes for a Better World” and focuses on innovative social enterprises addressing key social and environmental issues.

In 2016, DBS Bank launched SPARKS, the first-ever miniseries on bankers in Asia. The last two episodes of Season 1 were inspired by Sachin’s long standing mission of increasing access to play for less-privileged children. DBS partnered with Sachin to bring this purpose to life and together, lit a playground in the Mumbra district of Thane, transforming the lives of over 7,000 children.
