Zee TV’s popular singing reality show, Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Li'l Champs has won the hearts of audiences yet again post the lockdown as the supremely talented contestants continue to deliver some phenomenal performances week after week. The episodes of the coming week are set to pay a heartfelt tribute to one such maestro whohas not just been a judge and a mentor to the show’s talent across seasons but also played a pivotal role in shaping the contours of Sa Re Ga Ma Pa’s journey. While the contestants revived memories of Wajid Khan through his melodies, brother Sajid Khan who was a special guest for the episode took a rather emotional trip down memory lane, recalling some fascinating instances from their journey to becoming the iconic Sajid-Wajid duo!
Despite belonging to a family with such a rich musical legacy, Sajid always felt the need to diversify in a line alternate to his family’s, so as to provide for them. Prior to being known as a composer and a legendary singer, Sajid Khan began his career with a job that provided a stable monthly pay. However, it was love for his brother Wajid Khan that led him to joining hands with the latter and becoming the famous duo behind some of the most peppy and melodious tracks of the music industry. Reminiscing the dearest memories of this journey, an emotional Sajid said, “While Wajid was a true musician at heart and used to do ‘Riyaaz’ with his guitar for almost 8 hours a day, I always felt responsible to provide for my family and began working at a channel for a fixed salary. Infact, I also worked at my friend’s ice-cream stall for the very same reason. When we got our first break, it so happened that during a recording, Wajid was falsely accused and landed up in an uncomfortable situation. At that moment he came to me looking for support and that’s then when I decided to join hands and live his passion for music with him. I never ever wanted to overshadow my brother and would work alongside only for him. Mere liye, meriduniyamera bhai tha and his success gave me inner happiness.”
The upcoming episode of the show is all set to see the supremely talented Li'l Champs paying a heartfelt tribute with some of their special performances. While Ranita and Aryananda’s performance to 'TereNaina Bade Katil' song will win everyone's hearts, Zaid Ali will get the beats rolling with his 'Dagabaaz re' perfomance.
