On World EV Day, BluSmart cab concludes India’s first all-electric commercial vehicle journey from Delhi to Mumbai

The BluSmart cab journeyed seamlessly across 4 states and reached Mumbai from Delhi today covering 1,564 kms and saving 105 kgs of CO₂ emissions

Mumbai, September 09, 2020: BluSmart mobility, the electric ride hailing platform, flagged off the country’s first all-electric journey by a commercial vehicle, from Delhi reaching Mumbai today, September 9^th, World EV Day. The trip, aimed at demonstrating that India is ready for EVs, and covered approximately 1,564 km from Delhi to Mumbai by saving equal to 105 kg of CO₂ emissions from this trip. The journey was fully electric, noiseless with zero-emission and concluded in Mumbai today which started on September 4^th.

Speaking on completing the journey, Mr. Anmol Jaggi, Founder, BluSmart Mobility said, “This is our first step to showcase that India is ready for electric vehicles and World EV day turns out to be the appropriate moment for the EVictory lap to conclude successfully. The journey entailed fast charging the car 5 times and slow charging it 6 times. Our only motive behind this commercial journey was to showcase that India is ready for EV’s and can help revive the environment with noiseless, electric, zero emission rides. We are very happy that Mr. Anand Mahindra shared his excitement about the drive, which was possible on a Mahindra eVerito vehicle.”

The journey ended today in Mumbai on World EV Day. The journey in total covered the following places in these 4 days Neemrana, Kothputli, Jaipur, Pali, Ahmedabad, Vadodara, Surat and Vapi before reaching Mumbai. BluSmart undertook a similar initiative in January 2019 from Delhi-Jaipur trip (260km). This time, the distance was 5X of the former and was a good target to cover and achieve.
