Noida, 16 September 2020: HCL Concerts - Soundscapes, an initiative by HCL Concerts brings an enchanting performance by India’s most admired rock band – Indian Ocean. Performing on Friday, 18th September at 7 pm, Indian Ocean will have audiences swoon to a medley of their legendary hits such as Bandeh, Kandisa and Des Mera. The performance  will be live-streamed on HCL Concerts social media pages- Facebook (www.facebook.com/HCLConcerts,) YouTube (https://www.youtube.com/c/HCLConcertsand Twitter (https://twitter.com/HCLConcerts).

Indian Ocean started from an underground outfit in 1990 and grew to spearhead the Indian rock scene as one of India's most-admired music groups. Their music bears a unique signature blending contemporary rock with classical, jazz and fusion. This tugged perfectly at the heartstrings of an audience having grown up on Indian as well as western music, earning the band a cult following amongst the old-timers as well as millennials. Over the last 30 years, the band has released seven albums and conducted 983 shows across 50 countries and five continents so far and is the first Indian rock band to be featured on Rolling Stone Magazine. Despite losing original band members, the band has managed to hold itself and evolve over time from a guitar-based band to finding its own place and personality while maintaining their massive success during live circuits.

Talking about his upcoming performance, Amit Kilam from Indian Ocean said, “We are looking forward to our first ever performance for HCL Concerts, as part of Soundscapes. We see Soundscapes as a young yet unparalleled platform bringing distinct music from across the length and breadth of India. During our upcoming performance, we will bring to our listeners a mix of our all-time hits including those from movies like Masaan, Black Friday and songs from our latest and yet to be released Album. We hope the audiences enjoy as much as we do performing for them.”

‘Soundscapes’ was launched on the occasion of World Music Day in June 2020 with the hope of bringing to fore the rich and inclusive music from across the Indian landscape. Since its launch, the platform has already hosted seven virtual performances from a selection of popular artists from a variety of independent genres like sufi, folk and indie-pop. The program has attracted close to 10 million viewers from 35 countries including India, US, UK and UAE, who witnessed performances by accomplished artists like Harshdeep Kaur, Nizami Bandhu, Kavita Seth and Palash Sen.
