When Band Baajaa Baaraat happened in real-life: college sweethearts turned business partners get married

In the year 2013, Srinidhi Shetty and Viraj Shetty, two friends who had known each other from the time they were in junior college, joined hands to form a media and event company called Clover Entertainment. Each of them had just Rs. 15, 000 each of which was given to them by their parents. There was no investor or any other external support. Despite all the odds and challenges, they managed to carve out a success story out of their venture. Srinidhi and Viraj, who apart from being business partners were dating each other, recently tied the knot.

Talking about their recently conducted marriage, Viraj says, “Srinidhi and I were in a relationship for a long time. We have known each other since our college days and I guess we were destined to meet. Our friendship turned into us being business partners and now, we are happy to be life partners. We were planning to get married two years back but we had certain goals for our company. We set a target to achieve those goals by the time we turn 30 and get married after that. By God’s grace, everything fell into place.”

While Viraj is a Gujarati, Srinidhi hails from a South Indian household? Srinidhi and Viraj’s story resembles that of the Anushka Sharma – Ranveer Singh starrer hit ‘Band BaajaaBaaraat’. In the film, the characters initially believe that one should never do business with somebody one shares a personal equation with. By the end of the film, they realize that, necessarily, is not the way one should go about.

Speaking about the same, Srinidhi says, “Often, it works as an advantage if your business partner happens to be your husband, wife, sibling or close friend. If you share a personal bond with your business partner, it will help you understand them better. There will be more clarity in thoughts. Having said that, you must keep the professional and personal equation separate from each other. In the office, Viraj and I are business partners. At home, we are husband and wife.”

From managing a company together to being parents to an adorable dog, Viraj and Srinidhi shared a lot in common. So, getting married was the most natural progression in their relationship. Now that they are married, they have bigger goals for their company.

Clover Entertainment has its office in Mumbai and they do events in a wide variety of fields like corporate, education, sports, and even weddings across the country. Viraj and Srinidhi’s vision has driven the company and helped it reach dizzying heights of success and now, after their marriage, one is sure that the company will grow exponentially.
