Event and
Entertainment Management Association (EEMA), the unified body for events in
India, announced the final winners for the Zonal Spotlight Awards 2020, during
the ceremonies held virtually for 53 categories across four zones.
The Spotlight Awards chaired by Mr. Himanshu Shah. The Awards ceremony was Co-Chaired by Mr. Vinod Janardhan. Three virtual Awards ceremony were conducted for four zones and were kicked off with the inaugural message from the President, Mr. Roshan Abbas followed by, Mr. Samit Garg, Executive Vice President, EEMA, Mr Himanshu Shah- Chair Spotlight Awards, Siddhartha Chaturvedi- GS, Major KJS Gurna - Treasurer, Deepak Pawar - Secretary EEMA and Vinod Janardhan - Co-Chair. Post these opening remarks the ceremony officially began with the message from the Zonal VPs - Prerana Saxena ( Interim VP North) , Aarti Mattoo ( VP - West) and Martin Emmanuel (VP- South) followed by announcement of winners.
The Zonal Spotlight Awards gained an overwhelming response with more than 1600+ entries in over 53 categories across all the zones. The winners of the award represent the bold and innovative artists, service providers and event partners from the event industry who have showcased original ideas, top technologies and innovations in their field.
The Jury of the awards consisted of Senior Principal members of EEMA who are also heading leading companies in events and experiential industry. The prelims jury was represented by Kiran Shetty - Director, Collective Heads Exp. Mktg Sol Pvt. Whereas the final jury was led by Mr. Lalit Gattani, CEO & Founder, Showcraft Productions Pvt. Ltd., Rituraj Khanna, CEO, Q-Events Pvt. Ltd., Sunil Kutty Menon, CEO, Brand promotions(I) Pvt. Ltd. , Mahavir Sharma, Director, Jaipur Jewellery show and Sonu Nanda, MD, Prelude Novel Ventures Pvt. Ltd.
The virtual event’s digital engagement crossed
14,000+ views.

On the occasion,
Roshan Abbas, President EEMA, said,
“‘God lies in the details’. When an event
happens a lot of people are backstage who work to make it successful. They are
spread across different regions of the country. These Spotlight Awards is an
effort to take the Spotlight to these shining stars who very often go
unrecognized. With this kind of recognition they will be recognized as experts
in their respective fields.” He also added, ‘We look forward to everyone’s support and work towards the best of
innovations for the development of this event ecosystem.’
Executive Vice President, Samit Garg, also added, “The Zonal
Spotlight Awards were launched almost when we got hit by the pandemic. But, it
was very encouraging to note that we’ve received over 1600+ entries in over 53
categories across four zones. Interestingly a lot of participation came from
tier 2 and 3 cities. Our endeavour is to highlight and promote their creativity
and effectiveness to the event world.
Whether they win or not, their work should get recognition it deserves
and that is what we attempt to do with this.
Himanshu Shah, Chair, Zonal Spotlight Awards, said, “EEMA works have been
set up to work for the entire ecosystem .There are various recognitions that
happen on the national level. These people compete in their respective regions
more than with the national players. Keeping this in mind EEMA came up with
this format of the Zonal Spotlight Awards. He also said, “As the Chair of these awards, our philosophy
was to unite the entire event industry. We analyzed how to be more inclusive at
the regional level and ensure the judging was done keeping all the essential
parameters in mind. We assure, these awards will create a strong identity for
these players in their respective region and target market.”
Vinod Janardhan, Co-Chair, Zonal Spotlight Awards, said, “We at the Zonal Spotlight Awards 2020 are here to celebrate the best of the best in our industry. We have seen a really strong commitment amongst the jury on evaluating the final results for these coveted set of awards. These awards show true innovation and leadership amongst the event fraternity at the regional level. We’re glad to receive so many entries in its very first season. We hope that we get more participation and we do a bigger event even next year.”
Founded in 2008, The Event and Entertainment
Management Association (EEMA) (eemaindia.com/) is an autonomous and non-profit registered body of
companies, institutions and professionals operating within the Events and
Experiential Marketing industry of India. EEMA is the first and only body of
its kind, which seeks to bring together the country’s leading Event Management,
Sports Management and Brand Activation companies, MICE and Wedding Planners,
Experiential Marketers, Entertainment Professionals, Artist Management
Companies and International counterparts on the same platform. The Industry has
grown exponentially over the last two decades with over 1000 entities operating
in this space, in various segments and levels across 100+ cities in India.
