Today, Hon'ble Minister Shri Aaditya Thackeray (Minister Environment & Tourism, Guardian Minister) & Shri S.V.R. Srinivas IAS, Metropolitan Commissioner, were present for the concreting of the 1000th Segment Casting of Package-2, at the MTHL Package-2 Casting Yard.
Under the MTHL Catch-Up Plan, the entire team is working towards accelerating the project work to continue achieving such milestones.
Out of the total 21.8 kms of #MTHL, the construction of 7.8 kms of the bridge comes under Package-2, which also includes the interchange point of Shivaji Nagar.
The Hon'ble Minister reviewed the overall progress of all three packages with the Metropolitan Commissioner and extensively discussed the details of construction works regarding one of the most ambitious MMRDA projects.
MMRDA Mumbai Trans Harbour Link (MTHL) is a 21.8 kms, long 6-lane bridge with 16.5 km long sea bridge and 5.5 km long on either side. It is aimed at facilitating decongestion by improving connectivity between the island city and main land (Navi Mumbai) and development of Navi Mumbai Region. The link has interchanges at Sewri in Mumbai & at Shivaji Nagar & with NH-4B at Chirle in Navi Mumbai.
The project is scheduled to be completed by September 2023.
