Mrs Ratan Kaul (Founder President, Public Diplomacy Forum) and Dr Aruna Abhey Oswal with RISA, (Ms Riya Rastogi, CEO) celebrated the spirit of being a woman with the 15th Edition of the UN Designated International Women's Day Awards.
The evening was presented at The Imperial, Ballroom, New Delhi with eminent guests like Dr. Sonal Mansingh (MP Rajya Sabha), Smt Sunita Duggal (only woman MP from Haryana), Dr. Blossom Kochhar, Singer Minu Bakshi, Salma Sultana Indian television journalist, Mountaineer Sangeeta Bahl, Dr Aarti Vij, Mr. KL Ganju (Honorary Consulate of Union of Comoros), Mr Kazem Samandari (Chairman of L’opera), Upasana Taku Chairperso nCo-Founded MobiKwik, Dr. Navnit Haror Director Derma Miracle, Designer Ashima Singh, Digital Influencer Sakshi Sindwani, Educationist Reshma Bhagat, Singer Vidya Shah, Shaunali Nanda and Manisha Bhatia to name a few.
The International Women’s Day theme 2022 #BreakTheBias aims to forge a gender equal world. Celebrating women's achievements and increasing visibility, while calling out inequality, is key. The Central Idea of the event was presenting awards to Outstanding Women Achievers of 2022 the main focus being on rewarding and recognizing women who are breaking the bias by excelling in their respective domains. The event was presented by JPIN – they are building the world’s largest start-up investment bank and are creators of the world’s next decacorns ($10bn+). They are currently the largest cross-border start up investment bank between UK and India. They are massively focused on the Impact Investment angle with an emphasis on Women Empowerment.
Mrs. Ratan Kaul is a very well-known figure in New Delhi's cultural, social, diplomatic, business & political circles, an environmental activist and a writer. She has been recognized and awarded by many national and international organizations for her contribution and work as an activist.
RISA (Ms. Riya Rastogi, CEO) is an initiative of the Indian heritage brand Ram Chandra Krishan Chandra (RCKC) that has been integral to North India’s social fabric for the past 117 years with an unparalleled network of craftsmen and artisans. RISA’s new collection (displayed as part of a stunning installation at the event) , Indian Rhapsody designed by Abhijeet Khanna (Head Designer) and Renesa Rastogi (Designer/ Creative Director) with its colourful indo-western fusion pieces, pocket lehengas (women still struggle to find bottoms with pockets) paired with comfortable sneakers highlights the theme #BreakTheBias.
