Celebrity chefs Ajay Chopra and Shipra Khanna battle it out on Zee Café’s Chef Vs Fridge


Chef Ajay Chopra represents Indian West Coast culinary while Chef Shipra competes for East Coast

 

India is known for its diversity across the world. Apart from art and culture, food also has its variation as you travel from one region to another. The country also boasts of a long stretch of coastline and therefore, varieties in coastal cuisine can be experienced as you travel. Zee Café’s Chef Vs Fridge this week comes up with a theme of Indian coastal cuisine. Adhering to the theme, the audience will also witness a fun banter between Chef Shipra and Chef Ajay who represent their love for east and west coastal cuisine respectively.

While the challenge the two gave each other was fiery, the boss chiller’s ingredient acted as the ghee to that fire. Shipra used Bhetki fish to prepare Bengal’s specialty- Bhetki fried cutlets. Chef Ajay Chopra expressed his love for Goa by preparing special Goan curry. “I have spent a long time in Goa, studying and working there and therefore, Goan fish curry has been with me for many years,” said Chef Ajay Chopra. The two also gave multiple insights on the preparation of coastal food while cooking. The two revealed how tastes change when traveling from Konkan to Malwan to Goa to Kerala to Orissa to Bengal and to Assam. While it’s all different, it’s all delicious too.
