Honorable Deputy CM Announces Nursing Educators Excellence Awards Niramaya Gaurav

Continued Nursing Professional Development Program also launched

Nursing and Paramedical Institutes garnering A-rating felicitated

Lucknow,12, September 2023: At an event at Sanjay Gandhi Postgraduate Institute of Medical Sciences that marks a significant step towards recognizing and elevating the quality of nursing and paramedical education and professional development in the state of Uttar Pradesh, the Honorable Deputy Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, Dr. Brajesh Pathak, who was the chief guest announced the first "Nursing Teachers Excellence Awards," inaugurated the "Continued Nursing Professional Development Programme," and felicitated the "A-rated Nursing and Paramedical Institutes" under the ambit of "Mission Niramaya." In attendance were Shri Mayankeshwar Sharan Singh, Honorable Minister of State, Medical Education, Medical and Health, Family Welfare, Mother and Child Welfare as a guest of honor, Shri Alok Kumar, Principal Secretary, Medical Education, Government of Uttar Pradesh, Smt Kinjal Singh, Director General, Medical Education, Uttar Pradesh, Dr. Alok Kumar, Secretary, Uttar Pradesh State Medical Faculty, Prof R K Dhiman, Director, SGPGIMS luminaries from the healthcare and education sectors, government officials, and distinguished members of the community.

"As we gather here today to celebrate the launch of these initiatives, we recognize the many benefits these initiatives bring to our healthcare landscape in Uttar Pradesh. These programs represent a commitment to promoting excellence in nursing education, which is the cornerstone of a robust healthcare system. They catalyze progress, driving educators and institutions to continually aim for the highest standards of teaching and practice. Together, we stride towards a healthier, more empowered future,” said Shri Alok Kumar, Principal Secretary, Medical Education, in his welcome address.

As a testament to their commitment to excellence in nursing education and patient care, the Deputy Chief Minister also felicitated the "A-listed Nursing Institutes" under "Mission Niramaya." These institutions have demonstrated exceptional standards of education, infrastructure, and faculty expertise, making them a benchmark for others to follow. By acknowledging their efforts and accomplishments, the government aims to encourage other nursing institutes to emulate their success and maintain the highest standards of education and training.

It may be recalled that a rating of 383 Nursing colleges, and 294 Paramedical colleges in the state was formally released by the Honorable Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, Shri Yogi Adityanath on 12th July 2023. These include both private as well as government colleges. These ratings are available at https://ratings.upsmfac.org/

The Nursing Teachers Excellence Awards are a demonstration of the state government's commitment to fostering excellence in nursing education. These awards are designed to recognize and celebrate the outstanding contributions of nursing educators who have demonstrated exemplary dedication and innovation in shaping the next generation of nursing professionals. The inaugural edition will have five distinct categories each reflecting a unique facet of nursing education. These are Best Principal, Best Classroom Educator, Best Community Nursing Faculty, Best Clinical Faculty, and Best Lab Demonstrator.

"The introduction of Niramaya Gaurav, a dedicated Nursing Teachers Excellence Awards, acknowledges the pivotal role that nursing educators play in shaping the future of nursing and healthcare. By honoring them, the awards aim to inspire others in the field to strive for excellence, ultimately leading to the improvement of nursing education standards across the state,” noted Dr. Brajesh Pathak, Honorable Deputy Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, the chief guest at the occasion.

The Continued Nursing Professional Development program, unveiled during the event, is a comprehensive initiative aimed at enhancing the skills, knowledge, and competencies of nursing professionals in Uttar Pradesh. Through this program, nurses will have access to a wide range of specialized training, workshops, and educational resources to stay updated with the latest advancements in healthcare. This program not only benefits individual nurses but also contributes to raising the overall quality of healthcare services provided in the state, aligning with the government's mission to ensure accessible and high-quality healthcare for all.

It aims to raise public awareness serving as an information repository that provides ongoing updates, news, and insights into various initiatives hence enriching collective knowledge continually.
